Glass Fusing - Flower Burst Garden Art for all levels
Description
"Great fun and inspiring for beginners. Anyone can be artistic!" - Beverley Create your own beautiful all-year-round garden glass art on this half-day workshop for beginners and those with some glass fusing experience. On this workshop you'll discover how to create beautiful, textured fused glass art for your garden, combining coloured glass, enamel pens, glass frit, crushed coloured glass and stringers. You'll decorate three Cow Parsley pieces or three Flower Burst pieces (or a mix of both) in a range of sizes. After firing, we'll mount these on rust-proof stainless steel rods. Your flowers will stand around 1m tall so you'll be sure to enjoy them wherever you choose to plant them! This workshop is suitable for beginners, but If you've already enjoyed learning the basics of glass fusing on one of our beginner's classes, this is a great next step up for your new fused glass hobby. Tack-fusing involves fusing layers of specially cut glass shapes, frits and powders and stringers on to a base to form your design. The pieces are fired at a lower temperature than for a fully fused piece, resulting in a piece of fused art with beautiful texture! We'll provide pre-cut circles of glass (for Flower Burst pieces) and pre-cut Cow Parsley shapes in 3 sizes. You'll use stringers, crushed coloured glass, pre-fired dots and pebbles, frits and enamel pens to build up your piece. Once your 3 pieces are ready for the kiln, we'll fire them and secure the stainless steel rods and let you know when they're ready for collection. What attendees have said about our classes: "Very well organised and great teaching. So much so that I will be booking another course." "Clear instruction with a personal touch." "A great way to spend a day - well structured but also fun and inspiring." "Detailed and accurate instruction, at a pace suited to each individual..."
