Description

Stained glass appliqué is a beautiful combination of traditional stained glass and mosaic techniques, allowing you to create intricate and colourful designs. This technique offers a great deal of freedom and creativity. You will have the choice of several designs and will be encouraged to adapt and alter them to create your own unique piece of art. Whether you’re completely new to working with glass or have some experience, this workshop is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels. You will be guided through each step to ensure you create a beautiful finished artwork. To finish off the appliqué piece, once it has been grouted, we will frame it using lead and solder, offering an insight into the traditional stained glass methods. Join us for a rewarding and inspiring session where you can unleash your creativity and craft a unique stained glass appliqué piece to take home! Only 20 mins from Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead, Edenbridge, Uckfield and Crowborough, our Studio is in a beautiful converted Oast with exposed beams and gentle views across the farmland.  Filled with mouth-watering aromas from The Oast Bakery, where Alison prepares our delicious refreshments, this is the perfect place to escape the pressures of daily life and enjoy some creative time for yourself.  Our aim is to offer the chance to unwind, learn a new skill and meet like minded people whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability.

The Oast Studio was started in 2021, as the COVID restrictions came to an end and we realised there was a need and a demand for people to come and spend time crafting together. We paired together our love of food and sewing and The Oast Studio was created! We now offer over 80 different craft and sewing classes from Needle Felting & Basket Weaving to Sewing & Painting. With freshly baked treats at every class plus home cooked lunches at all our full day courses.
