Come and join me in my lovely studio - overlooking local shops and close to our award winning green park. This bespoke workshop is created especially for you, with two options: - A group of one. - A group of two. Please note, only one booking is allowed per session. Due to the flexibility of the workshop, only base metals (copper and bronze and titanium) can be included in the cost. You can choose to work with other metals or a mix of base and precious metal - the cost will reflect the choice of project. Typical material costs per person: - £10 to £40 for sterling. - £20 - £50 for Argentium. - £20 - £60 - metal clay. At the end of the day, you will go home with your own unique hand-crafted work. Check out the ideas below, once you have booked onto a workshop, we can develop your ideas and plan for the day. Some advance purchases may be necessary so please allow at least 10 days for preparation. You can bring items with you to work around or maybe you have your own idea - what would you like to make? Ideas and inspiration: LOST WAX CARVING - your day will be worked across two separate sessions - carving your item and finishing your item, or having it finished for you. Your item will be cast in the metal chosen from the casters selection - base or precious. This PROCESS is included in the cost. The METAL for casting is not included. SILVERSMITHING FOR BEGINNERS UP - use traditional silversmithing techniques to create you own unique jewellery. Make rings, pendant, charms or earrings, bangles, simple chains, etc. Maybe you want to make something specific such as: - A spinner ring. - A three way Russian style interlocking ring. FUSION FUN - enjoy the creative side of silversmithing. Using simple fusion with high quality materials to create beautiful jewellery - sophisticated, unique, organic, keep it simple or go with the flow! MELT & CAST - using cuttlefish or delft clay; make your mould, and cast your piece. You will need to tidy up your work and then it can be tumbled or polished. - Purchase casting grain via tutor - please allow up to two weeks when booking this STONE SETTING - make a plain or decorated cabochon setting for a ring or pendant. - Bring your own cabochon or purchase via tutor. - Materials - usually silver, purchase via tutor. ENAMEL - torch fired enamelling is colourful and creative, make a pendant, earrings or other using copper and enamel. - Only materials mentioned are included in cost. METAL CLAY - learn how to use and manage metal clay. Use a silicone mould or sculpt your own design. Add some sparkly stones to make a beautiful pendant or a stunning pair of earrings. - Purchase metal clay via tutor, or bring your own. HOLIDAY TREASURES - bring your beach findings and turn them into lasting mementoes: shells, sea glass, pebbles. This class often doubles up as a jewellery making course with lots of info and support to help you continue at home. We plan in advance, to ensure you get the best experience possible. Learn, make, enjoy.
What's included in the price?
- Basic materials are included. If you wish to work mainly with precious metal or metal clay, this will need purchasing in advance or in house, on the day. - Lots of refreshments, a fabulous day specifically for you or a group of two. Preparation - a WhatsApp group, set up in advance, to share information, discuss designs and options within the parameters of the chosen project. Your will be guided through this process and offer advice re: time available, materials and suitability for beginners. WHAT ABOUT FOOD? A one hour lunch break is included. My studio is situated in the busy shopping area of Sherwood on Mansfield Road, close to a park and plenty of food outlets, including: Ohannes Burgers, Pudding Pantry, RikShaws Urban Street Food, Cchinos, Nibbles, Bakehouse, etc, etc.

We still have free parking available near the workshop but paid for parking is being introduced also. To ensure up to date info, I send a map with parking and other useful info just a few days before the event
Yes! Because of the expense, not many can afford to make more than one 9ct gold ring. A slim, stacking ring could be the main project of a taster session where you have enough time to make one ring, really well. If the cost of gold is really high, gold filled is a cheaper alternative.
