"Just arrived home to Canada and had to write about the wonderful experience I had stone carving with Sebastian for 4 days. Sebastian was able to recommend accommodation within walking distance of the course site which was a big help. The course location had a perfect atmosphere for me. Sebastian was very knowledgeable and patient. I was extremely happy with the product I took home. I will be contacting him again on my next trip to the U,K, for another course. Thanks again."

"My husband bought me this stone-carving experience for my birthday as I have always wanted to carve stone. The weekend exceeded all of my expectations. Sebastian was a wonderful tutor, always on hand to ask for advice, yet he was not controlling or intrusive. His approach enabled me to trust in my growing relationship with the stone, and the design that wanted to emerge from it. I am really proud of my sculpture which is now sitting in pride of place in my lounge! I am already planning my next weekend and my next design! "This is a fantastic weekend in blissful and creative natural surroundings totally off grid, in grounds strewn with Sebastian's sculptures in progress and for sale. In the workshop built from reclaimed materials and warmed by a beautiful wood burning stove there is space, light and all the interesting tools that you will work with to accomplish your sculpture. Sebastian is a warm, kind and intuitive teacher with a gentle approach to giving you the skills and advice needed, along with the fun and pleasure from trying something new. From picking out the stone to working it into shape the weekend was absorbing and meditative and it was very inspiring to learn about materials and tools Sebastian has picked up on his extensive global travels from Mongolia to India and Africa. I'm looking forward to another weekend and I am so grateful for the encouragement and training and bringing home something to feel proud of."

"What a brilliant 2 day course, Sebastian was very informative and helpful, gave me so much encouragement with patience. I found it good therapy, relaxing and took my mind off other things, and came home with a lovely sculpture, which I did not think I would complete in 2 days. "Highly recommended and well worth the long trip from Newcastle. I also think it would be ideal therapy for anyone needing to clear their head from life’s stresses/anxieties for a while as it is totally absorbing. My wife and I are total novices so had no idea whether we’d be able to produce anything at all other than a pile of stone chippings. We ended up feeling very proud of our creations thanks to Sebastion’s expert guidance and encouragement along the way. He has a very nice relaxed and friendly approach and is happy to provide whatever level of guidance you want. We would happily go again Peter & Paula Davis"

"What a great experience. Managed to book the two days for during the week as it was more convenient. Sebastian was very helpful as my wife and I had never done stone carving before and he was always on hand for advice. We both threw ourselves into it as that's the best way to approach an experience like this and we are very happy with what we produced. Our work is already located throughout our garden. "A thoroughly enjoyable but very tiring weekend; I can’t remember the last time I came home so dusty, if ever. Sebastian chivvied me along when I thought I would never get anywhere in the given time, and it all worked out well in the end with a lovely ball-flower. A bonus is that the inside even looked like a rose! I sometimes felt that I was left to make a decision on how much more was needed to be done on a particular stage of the carving, when I personally would have liked him to tell me ‘do this till it looks like that’ but that may be because I’m not in anyway arty or crafty, where he is."

"Had an amazing family weekend creating various forms from limestone- loved the venue-felt very comfortable very quickly after small intros- what I liked most was the ethos- Sebastian is there to provide experience, wisdom, top tips to try and avoid catastrophes but also reassure that mistakes can turn into unique happy accidents that make your piece individual and special! I liked the freedom we had to ‘have a go’ but also a quiet eye kept on us to provide advice as required. Chipping, adzing(?) rasping and riffling and the 2 days went too quickly as we got absorbed into what we were doing- weekend flew by but all three of us went home with something we felt really pleased with. Highly recommended. Will definitely attend again."

"Fantastic weekend. Didn't matter about the weather - soon found myself so engrossed with carving a Buddha from a block of limestone. There was a brief introduction and explanation of tools but after that we all started our own projects and Sebastian was always on hand with suggestions and support when needed. Wonderful calming atmosphere, very relaxed throughout. So pleased with my Buddha. Would totally recommend this course."

"Heard about this fantastic course through a friend and it certainly exceeded expectations. Lovely setting, incredibly relaxing environment. After a some practice with the tools on a piece of scrap stone, and some pointers from Sebastian on how achievable my design was in the time, i choose my stone and began to carve. Sebastian is as involved as you want him to be, he gives great un-patronising advice on how best to complete what you would like to do within your abilities. Everyone went home with a unique sculpture made by them. Definitely booking again. My piece even got house room when I got home !!!!"
