"My friend and I attended this course yesterday - Kate was an excellent tutor, always conscious of safety. A full day of glass making, learning how to cut glass, grind the edges, apply copper bindings, tinning and soldering the pieces together. We both had great fun and came away with two beautiful and unique tea light holders - an excellent day and we can’t wait to return !!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my first Glass Fusion course. Martin was a brilliant teacher, with very clear guidance and advice in what we needed to know to achieve a good result. "I spent a throughly enjoyable 5 hours at Martin's workshop. As a complete novice I was not sure how successful I would be, but Martin was a fabulous teacher. Within minutes we were cutting glass and within the hour had our first piece made. It was a perfect way to be in the moment, to leave the hustle of life outside the studio. Martin was supportive but allowed you the freedom to be creative with a range of materials in a rainbow of colours. Can't wait to see my fired pieces. If you are sitting on the fence about this course, get signed up!"

"Attended my first (and won’t be my last) glass fusing day with Martin. Excellent well organised workshop, very clear, precise and simple instructions to follow. Martin was on hand for help and advise but you were given the space to be as creative as you wanted with a large selection of different materials to use. Amazing how much you learn and get to make in the 5 hours, the time just flew by. If your reading this review..go for it you certainly won’t be disappointed ?"

"I was bought CraftCourse vouchers for my birthday and chose to do a Fused Glass workshop with Martin at Martin McAssey Glass. I was a bit nervous as I don't consider myself especially creative and I was also attending on my own. However, I needn't have worried - I had a great day! Martin was clearly very knowledgeable and helpful, but also allowed us develop our own style as we progressed through our pieces. I didn't feel awkward at all - in fact, I was so into my 'creations', I barely looked up and time flew by. Martin had a great array of materials and we could take inspiration from items Martin had on display or choose our own designs. We made several different pieces on the day and I can't wait to see how they turn out after firing! Hopefully I'll have some lovely personal pieces. I would thoroughly recommend this activity. I had a great time and it was fantastic value for money. The workshop is also easy to get to and had plenty of parking."

"What a fantastic day! Right from the beginning, we were made welcome by Kate, who gave us a safety brief and answered any questions we had. I was a complete novice to glass crafting but Kate was an excellent teacher who gave us step-by-step instructions to ensure we were successful! "I loved this Christmas course. I made personal decorations for my family plus I played around with different ideas I had myself. The course gives simple instructions and practice of various cutting techniques. Martin is very friendly checking in to make sure you understand what you are doing and gives constructive feedback so you can change and develop ideas. It was also nice to see some of his current work this time showing what is possible with glass crafts."

"Clear tuition giving lots of cutting techniques & frequent support. Huge range of glass products to personalise your items or you could follow his demonstration pieces exactly. It was an enjoyable, busy, focused day which passed too quickly. I made 11 decorations but you could make however many you had time for."

"I attended this course after receiving it as a present. The Christmas crafts were really fun to make and Martin explained how to make each item in stages so that you could have a go in your own time. It was something I’d really wanted to have a go at and I would book another course in the future. The day went so quickly and Martin gave assistance at any point, with lots of encouragement"

"I really enjoyed the workshop. I would highly recommend, Kate and the course, if like me you have always fancied trying this. We were provided with all the tools and plenty of materials to complete a piece of art and Kate's knowledge, teaching and patience was excellent. My thanks to my fellow students and Kate in staying until we all had all completed our work. I'm so pleased and proud of the panel I (with Kate's help) created. I so wish I was able to attend the weekly sessions."
