"Having already dipped my toe into the stained glass water, I came to the class with 2 techniques I wanted to master and left knowing so much more. 2 terms of evening classes had taught me the confidence to cut glass and copper foil it, but even the tuition about cutting on Matt's course was valuable as I learned new techniques and improved my speed and confidence. I feel ready to try came work now as well. Matt is very patient and clearly has a passion for this type of work. His enthusiasm is infectious and I only wish I lived nearer to attend again. Handouts supplied after the course were an unexpected and helpful addition. How many times have I wondered at the array of glass available to buy and never felt certain about the choices I was making? Thank you, Matt. Your course comes highly recommended."

"Absolutely loved the course. An excellent introduction in to the world of Stained Glass. Matthew is a great and enthusiastic teacher. Having already been on a glass fusion course last year, I feel that I picked up so much more from my day with Matthew. In particular, thanks to some great tips I am now so much more confident and accurate at cutting glass. I left the day with a lovey piece and I am now truly hooked. I can't wait for another day of stained glass and I'll be booking my wife on to the next course. I recommend this course for anybody with an interest in glass. Thank you Matthew"

"Wonderful course for me and my 12 year old. The time went very quickly and we learnt so much. We are both very proud of our pieces. Well done Matt for managing such a diverse group all working away on their own designs and each person requiring your attention!"

"Great course and tutor. Matt gently introduces you into the world of stained glass, including the various techniques available, for you to produce a unique piece of work. He tailors the pace to the course members and before long, after making a few tentative cuts into practice pieces of glass, you are creating all sorts of shapes with confidence. He provides all the required tools and an amazing array of stained glass for you to use and be inspired by. I attended the course in Frome, and had discussed with Matt (via email) what I wished to produce prior to the course taking place. Where possible I would recommend this as while 7 hours is enough to produce your piece of work, the time goes by so quickly. I would fully recommend this course. Matt is very approachable, and as well as providing all the practical knowledge, he is very patient giving encouragement, advice and assistance."

"I came to this course with my granddaughter. Although we were both complete beginners we were encouraged to design and build our own projects. Through the day Matt introduced us to the techniques we needed while at the same time assisting other participants who were more experienced and working on some advanced work. He described this as keeping all the plates spinning. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and, most importantly, managed to complete our designs successfully. I would recommend this course to anyone who would like an introduction to stained glass work."

"Always wanted to try stain glass crafting but thought it would be too difficult. I need not have worried because under Matt's tutorlage I came home with a lovely piece of stain glass art. The whole day was concentrated and I learnt so many techniques, so happy that I have enrolled for the next course at Bradninch. Thank you Matt for your patience."

"As a young artist many decades ago, I always wanted to create a stain glass piece. We have been so blessed to have our wonderful stained-glass artist Matt Le Breton in Bradninch. My husband and I booked on one of his courses a couple of years ago. We created a sun inspired design to be installed above the portal of our house. I must admit. as painters, we were so unfamiliar with the technique, though Matt was very patient and supported us with the completion. So many friends and neighbours have commented on our beautiful stained-glass piece, and we are very proud of it! Matt is an excellent tutor and communicator. He has a powerful vision, and is an inspiring, energising tutor and artist. Matt also has a warm and friendly personality, and is very instructive and encouraging. We look forward to attending another one of his courses in the near future, and they are to be highly recommended!"

"Did this excellent course yesterday and couldn't wait to get started at home!! Matt is excellent as a teacher as he is very patient and gives time to each person in the class ensuring everyone benefits from his endless knowledge. He had lots of tips and tricks to pass on which was great especially ideas on keeping the cost of things under control as my reason for doing the course was to make things to sell for charity so cost effectiveness was very important. Would recommend this course to anyone wanting to have a go at Stained Glass but be warned it is addictive and you will want to do more."

"I have attended several workshops with Matt now and loved all of them! Matt is very patient, encouraging and helpful at each stage of the design process he is an excellent Teacher. As confidence grows he leaves you to progress at your own speed but always helps when you might be struggling with technique. Mine was using the soldering iron! Sorry Matt. Matt made two beautiful windows for my home, working with ideas with me and involving me with the choice of beautiful glass pieces including antique panels cut to enhance the design. The limits of what you can create with Matt are only your own imagination, even if it takes a few classes to create one piece it's worth it. Highly recommended....Have a go."

"Matt is an excellent tutor. Within the first hour, after the safety training, I was cutting glass confidently. The size of the class is small so this means Matt can attend to each person individually, providing guidance and a helping hand as needed. Lending his knowledge and expertise he has helped me realise my stain glass design. This included the choice of colours for the glass, technical aspects to achieve the desired effect, e.g., acid etching and glass staining for the written text. An important consideration for me is that the venue for the class is nearby and the time is convenient being a day at the weekend. The cost included access to all tools, materials, and safety ware. The only thing I brought to the class was my design, although Matt does say he can provide designs that can be achieved within the day. I have had two sessions so far because my stain glass design while not complex is tricky to make, there being lots of small circles. All the pieces are cut and ready. So I look forward to my next session, and with Matt's help, assemble my stain glass plaque. Matt's class is a great way to spend a day in an out of the ordinary activity. No prior experience needed just a willingness to learn. You will be fully engaged in activity and be surprised at how the time passes. It is interesting to see the stained glass designs that other attendees are making. At the final day's end, you leave with an object and a story of an experience which you can show and tell to family and friends. Each time you catch a glimpse of your stain glass feature you can say ‘I made that.’"

"The ancient art of stained glass is something I've wanted to learn about for a long time. I've bought a book or two and watched the odd You tube video but when Matt asked if I wanted to attend one of his workshops I jumped at the chance. I've now completed 2 workshops with Matt and thanks to his help, expertise and patience I've actually managed to complete 2 pieces of stained glass and I'm really pleased with them. The techniques and tricks I learned from Matt would have taken me a frustratingly long time to learn from books and the internet. There is nothing like one-to-one tuition with constant guidance and advice throughout the whole process from an experienced craftsman. Thank you so much Matt, I can't wait till the next workshop. Owen"

"Thanks to Matt's excellent demonstration and instruction techniques, within an hour I knew the basics of how to create a stained glass panel and felt happy to give it a go. I loved working with glass and appreciated being taught by someone who is artistically skilled and clearly committed to the development of their craft. Matt creates a warm, friendly, task focused teaching space and I wholeheartedly recommend his classes."

"Really enjoyed the various classes I have done with Matt. He is a fantastic teacher - endlessly patient and encouraging. He manages to inspire you and make you feel you can do it....& in fact you discover you can! It is great to be able to take away a piece of artwork which you have made. I am NOT an artist but I was pleased with my efforts. Stained glass is a very absorbing hobby. I shall certainly do more in the future."

"I was rather nervous at first, not being totally artistic, but Matt put me at ease and was extremely patient! He is an excellent teacher. I managed to make a couple of hangings and a lovely mirror. The classes were an enjoyable experience, fun and I met some interesting fellow students. I would recommend anyone to 'give it a go' as you may be surprised by what you can do."

"At first there was the uncertainty that "I cannot cut and shape glass" but Matt quickly taught the techniques and created the confidence to have a go. Attended three classes and created two lovely pieces of work that I treasure and am proud of. Would recommend Matt's classes to anybody who has wanted to try stain glass but never felt they could do it."
