Julie, Gary and Hilda reviewed: Stained glass 3D suncatchers

"We booked a private day for the three of us, a middle aged couple and Mum (82). None of us had ever worked with glass before. Gigha welcomed us with hot drinks and cookies, which were on offer throughout the day. And a jacket potato with salad lunch provided. We started with learning to cut glass in straight and curved lines which we all practiced extensively, before deciding what we’d like to make. We all decided to make different things as there was so much inspiration in the studio. Because it was a private session Gigha was very happy to accommodate this. There was lots of glass choices in both colour and texture. Once we had cut the glass we learned to remove sharp edges with the grinder and fixed copper tape around all edges. This was followed by applying flux and soldering the pieces together. I’m delighted to say that we all left with a lovely piece of artwork that we are proud to display in our home. One gothic inspired mirror, one light Catcher cube and one flat soaring bird light catcher. All very different, but fabulous memories of the day. If we are in the area again we will be booking another session with Gigha who is an excellent teacher and artist."

Alice reviewed: Two day stained glass workshop - lead panels or garden sculpture

"My sister and I had a private, 1-day workshop making leaded stained glass panels. Gigha is a brilliant, clear, enthusiastic teacher and her workshop is just a dream to work in. I was so delighted with the panel I was able to make in the session. The session was challenging and so satisfying. Gigha kept us stocked up with hot drinks, biscuits, cakes and lunch and we had a lot of fun! Gigha's own work is so playful and beautiful. She was great at advising on design and knowing what was achievable in a day and giving us plenty of time to practise different skills. Thank you, Gigha!"

I am looking forward to my next class where I plan to perfect my skills! Thank you so much x"

Dee Houghton reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"Fantastic course: well organised with a really high quality of practical teaching. The days are well structured and it is great value for money. There were only 4 students (and 2 teachers - Richard & Mark), but we were all given clear instruction, guidance and support throughout. Both Richard & Mark are approachable and friendly and our group gelled really well - so much so, we all booked course 2 together again for next year. Covid distancing was adhered to along with face shield which made us all very comfortable. The days are really packed - none of the common hours breaks and lunch - they keep you busy 8.45 - 5pm with a 45 minute lunch break. You can help yourself to drinks but I found I was too engrossed in learning new skills and lost track of time with the days flying by. As a novice, I learned loads and have a lovely solid oak table to show for it. I would highly recommend and would do it all again!!"

Lisa Cullingworth reviewed: Spoon carving at Walderchain Wood, Canterbury

"James and I had a wonderful time learning the skill of spoon carving at Walderchain Wood. It is a beautiful, tranquil setting and with Mark's expertise we were able to go home with a freshly carved spoon each and the confidence to give it another go on our own! Christina provided us with a beautiful homemade veggie/vegan meal and a delicious chocolate cake for afters! This really is a wonderful setting to reset your mind and channel your focus on something new in the great outdoors. We are excited to get stuck in on other projects and will definitely be back if future courses are available. Thank you both!"

Walderchain Wood responded:

"Lisa, Thank you for the lovely feedback. Glad you both had such a good day. Look forward to seeing your future creations. ATB Mark & Cristina"

Dave Jarvis reviewed: Dog collar & lead course

"Another excellent course on dog collar & lead that I've attended run by Rosanna. I can thoroughly recommend spending 3 hours doing this workshop. It's the first time I'd used the sewing machine for stitching and with some help from Rosanna going round the ends, I feel pretty confident of tacking more projects own my own using a machine. As always, Rosanna was very helpful and encouraging throughout the morning. I'm very proud off the collar & lead end result and looking forward to continuing this wonderful hobby. Thank you again Rosanna and sorry to have run a little over time with my hand stitching."

"An incredible experience! Rachel was not only the perfect host, putting us at ease but also the best teacher you could ask for. I’ll love wearing my necklace and earrings (with pride). X"

Janice Wilson reviewed: Stained glass weekly classes in Sheffield (South Yorkshire)

"I joined the group feeling very nervous, but quickly felt at home. The class moves at your pace, learning all the basics and then allowing you to develop your skills while designing your own projects. Always supported by Martin who explains and demonstrates as many times as you need. I can’t believe how fast the time in classes flies and you realise how much you still have to learn. Beware it is addictive. Once you start you cannot stop"

Lynn reviewed: Embroidered jewellery

"We had a delightful afternoon making embroidered earrings. Judith’s own work is so inspiring. There was a huge choice of materials and colours so everyone’s pieces were unique even though we all used the same techniques. Lovely homemade cake in the garden completed this lovely, relaxing treat."

"Thanks for your lovely review Lynn, I'm so glad your enjoyed it having waited so patiently for us to be able to run the course safely! I hope to see you on another workshop in the future."

"Came on the Grow Your Own course in June and really enjoyed it. Have been growing veg for many years but was interested in Kim's ideas about growing different plants together. Christine Barson reviewed: One day stained glass workshop London for beginners and enthusiasts

"I thoroughly enjoyed my one day workshop with Tejal and came home with a 3D creation that I thought was going to be too complicated for a beginner. Tejal went to great lengths to ensure I achieved my goals and I learnt a huge amount within a short time. She is a lovely person and an inspiring teacher and her workshop is in a beautiful setting. A cup of tea or coffee in the afternoon would have helped to keep me going but Covid restrictions prevented that - maybe this will change soon. Many thanks, Christine."

GlassSeasons responded:

"thanks! it was lovely to teaching you."

Danielle reviewed: Soy Wax Candle Making in Durham

"What a wonderful way to spend a day! Diane was absolutely lovely & not only took us through the candle-making process step by step, but made us feel very welcome & at home. The shed is dreamy : ) I'd quite happily live in there & it's surrounded by a beautiful garden which is highly inspiring to work in. The candle I came away with smells divine and looks beautiful... I'm keeping the candle but I've given some of the wax melts (which were an added bonus) to friends so that they can enjoy the scent too : )"

Creative Path Crafts responded:

"Hi Danielle, So pleased you found our workshop and garden inspiring, I so lucky to have such a lovely place to work and live."
