alison humphries reviewed: Rag Rugs and Wallhangings - traditional hand hooking and prodding and related techniques

"A great beginners course in a lovely setting. Lynne began by showing various hangings and other items she has created which was very inspiring. After stretching hessian on a frame - which was ours to keep along with the hooking and prodding tools provided - she clearly explained the key techniques. We were then able to try for ourselves and use different and unexpected materials including plastic bags! During the day there was plenty of tasty food and drink provided. Highly recommended."

Rose reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"Excellent! My Mum and I thoroughly enjoyed our class with Jamal and came away really happy with the stained glass panels that we made. Jamal is a great teacher as has so much knowledge and enthusiasm for the topic, it was definitely infectious as we want to try making more things now! Would recommend the class to anyone as a fun day out that also gives you a greater appreciation for the skill and craftmanship involved in stained glass window making."

Lisa reviewed: Rag Rugs and Wallhangings - traditional hand hooking and prodding and related techniques

"Had a fun day as a complete beginner learning the techniques of rag-rugging and wall hangings. Learning the use of mixing fabrics and plastics along with wire and all sorts of different embellishments as we went along. I wish I'd had the foresight to work one corner to make a sampler so that I can keep and refer back to techniques we learned whereas now I have the image in my head that I want to do, I may have to restart some of it. That said, Lynne was so great at getting us started that it should take no time at all. My other half's t-shirts are no longer safe!"

Nicola Davies reviewed: Circular sock knitting machine 'Sock School'

"This is an absolutely fabulous experience! The sock just grows before your very eyes! Concentration is required, but the reward is so worth it. The whole day is great fun, in lovely surroundings with like minded people. Anne is an excellent, patient teacher who brings the craft to life with her knowledge and enthusiasm. Being a non-knitter, I needed this, and I ended up with a beautiful pair of socks, which I could actually wear without alarming folk! The lunch is delicious, which is an added bonus, and we even had home made biscuits which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended."

John reviewed: One to one photographic tuition London - Online

"Very enjoyable, I walked away from the course feeling fully prepared and energised to apply all the advice given. I was very impressed by Richard, not only about the techniques, but also the tools and how best to use them. I particularly liked his flexibility in getting his message over, we were a mixed ability group and he quickly noticed those needing things explained in a different way to ensure the message had go through to everyone. A great course from a very knowledgeable and pleasant man. Fully recommended!"

Julie Wymer reviewed: Improvers Hand Spinning - Next Steps in Hand Spinning - at All in a Spin

"This course is an excellent way of increasing knowledge and learning about new skills and tools available to novice spinners. The technical side of learning about ratios helps your understanding of how to spin for specific projects and the blending of colour and fibres is exciting and inspirational. I would recommend the course to anyone who wants to learn more about spinning and the techniques available to create beautiful spun yarn."

Sarah Potter reviewed: Hand spinning for beginners at Cartmel Handspun

"With just 4 people on the course, Elaine was able to spend plenty of time with each one of us, sorting out our problems ans setting us back on the right path. We covered everything from how to choose a fleece and what to do with it, through drop spindling before using a spinning wheel. Elaine provided a variety of fibres for us to try out. There really was nothing we weren't taught! A lovely day in a beautiful location."

Deana Luchia reviewed: One to one photographic tuition London - Online

"Brilliant course. I did it with a friend and there was just the two of us in the workshop which was perfect. I am an absolute beginner and my friend is already quite proficient, but Richard passed on plenty of tips for both of us and got us taking really decent photos of City landmarks. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to improve their skills and feel more confident about photography. Richard was very patient, knowledgeable, fun and great at instilling confidence. Beautiful locations too. Overall just a great experience."

Paul Stacey reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"This was my second visit to see and work with Alex after a really enjoyable first experience, the second visit did not disappoint. I made another matching garden obelisk to match my first visit. Alex is friendly, patient, supportive and allows you to push yourself so you can get what you want out of the day. Also had the bonus of lunch being included. It's a great experience in a great place and its really enjoyable skill and material to work with."

jessica benstead reviewed: Amazing encaustic art day course

"Spent the day with Phil, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I've never done anything like this before and he was really encouraging and explained things well. He has a great sense of humour and in a really lovely village. I was amazed how many techniques and styles can come out of an iron and wax and I am really impressed with everything I created, I loved that if you did something wrong you could start again so easily or go over it and do something else. He let me be creative we went down the route of things I liked the look of and he showed me some fantastic techniques to try another time. Would highly recommend as something fun to do, I didn't get messy and I didn't burn myself! I will be back for more without a doubt!"

Kate White reviewed: Willow Piglet workshop

"Great day, clear instruction and encouragement and we all went home with recognisable piglets! One improvement would be a bit of pre course information such as saying that the venue might be on the cooler side (as it needs to be to work with the willow etc), so bring a few extra layers."

Jennie Plant reviewed: Beginners Fused Glass Workshop - Light Catchers and Jewellery Making - at MADE IN HERTS STUDIOS

"I thought the actual course was excellent, I really enjoyed the instruction from Lynn, the way she ran it and the flexibility she provided in terms of design. I would have rated it excellent but unfortunately when I went to collect my items, they weren't all ready (the fixings hadn't been attached and they didn't have the supplies to do them then). They very kindly said they would post them to me but I still haven't received anything since the course."

anita and william roberts reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"My son and I had a wonderful day with Nigel at the Forge, including two nights in the shepherds huts on what proved to be a snowy spring weekend. As a girl raised in the sexist days of the 50's and 60's I had no experience at all of metalwork and was a little nervous of what to expect. Nigel was interesting and knowledgable, willing to stand back or step in as needed. Having expected that we would observe much and participate a little we were thrilled to discover that once Nigel had demonstrated a technique we were able to practise skills with a considerable level of independence and to produce objects of our own. We came away very aware of the level of skill Nigel has in producing beautiful ironwork and with our own less than perfect, but proudly produced, pokers, shovels, metal leaves and a small dish. Nigel's flute playing was relaxing and fun and he made four children very welcome to watch and listen for part of the day. This day was a Christmas gift that was greatly appreciated - an all-round good experience."

Jennifer reviewed: One day leather work course - small leather goods

"I booked on to the one-day course and made a fabulous notebook holder. Jason was so knowledgeable and gave us lots of his tips and tricks to enable everyone in the group to take these away and practise at home. I've now bought the tools to make up my own leather tool kit. Everyone in the group had an amazing day.....Lunch at the café was delicious and the endless cups of tea and coffee were fantastic......just what we all needed as we didn't stop nattering! I'd highly recommend this course to anyone. A huge thank you Jason and Louise for a truly enjoyable day."
