David Simons reviewed: Fabulous Fraktur! One day calligraphy

"I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Tina was a very good tutor who arranged a schedule for learning the script methodically and achieve positive results by the end of the day. The course was mixed with talks and demonstrations backed up with easy to understand worksheets and exemplars. Tools and materials were available if we didn't have the relevant bits. The venue was spacious and plenty of light. Refreshments and strawberry cake was especially popular!! I look forward to another course with Tina one day."

Scott Chaussée reviewed: Hand-stitched leather tote, satchel or messenger bag course

"I cannot fault this course for anything. Not only is Pembrokeshire beautiful and Narberth town excellent, but the staff of Leather Courses Britain are marvellous educators. We as a group were immediately felt welcome but no time was wasted in getting down to the reason we were there. We got an education in the tools, in the material, and the process. Although I personally felt like I was high maintenance, I was never made to feel like a nuisance. There was nothing but patience from the staff there (and tonnes of cake!) I learned so much over the weekend- the most important was the realisation that I could continue leather working as a lifetime hobby. Gaynor made sure we all felt capable. I came away from the course with the desire to establish a hobby and a messenger bag I am immensely proud of. I plan on attending another course in the very near future. Gaynor, Gary, Elizabeth, and Sian, thank you!"

Steven Morgan reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"A great day. I had done just a little turning on dry wood, so great to learn so much about green wood turning. My tools needed sorting out - which mark did for me- saving me all sorts of ongoing trouble in the future. (just because you buy good branded tools doesnt meant they are ground right to start with!) Lots of explanation and good reasons for his techniques which will serve me well. A very full day, but at my pace. Make sure you have a look at some of Marks work in the back- Its art- not craft! I was so impressed I have commissioned a piece from him. I shall be back for more when I had some more practice (referring to the copious notes given to me by Mark to guide me through the process of turning a fine green oak bowel) thanks again for a great day- Steve"

Nigel Charles reviewed: Green wood chair making in Portugal

"Peter ran the course in such a way that we could make what we wanted but that was realistic in the time available. He gave me all the support and guidance that I needed, his ideas were creative, he taught me some new skills and techniques, he was also really good at showing us how to use the tools and the course was great fun. Peter is a skilled craftsman and he is a very good teacher – he explains things clearly, he is very patient and spent his time fairly with the students. Peter’s workshop is in a beautiful stone barn in stunning countryside and this was also a memorable part of the course, especially as we could work outside in the sunshine and have tea and lunch breaks there was well. His workshop in a beautiful stone barn in stunning countryside was also a memorable part of the course, especially as we could work outside in the sunshine and have tea and lunch breaks there was well. It was a great introduction to green wood working – I highly recommend it to anyone interested in working with wood whatever their level of experience and skill."

Jan Reed reviewed: Pottery classes near Bridgend- Hand building with a professional potter with over 30 years experience

"I had such a fantastic and creative time with Jane and the other potters, I came for the morning session and stayed for the whole day! Jane is a great teacher. She made me feel very relaxed despite my lack of experience. I came away with two beautiful hares that I was capable of producing. Jane encouraged me to watch the raku process and everyone shared in everyone's successes. A lovely group of people in a relaxing setting. The groups meet weekly but were very welcoming to a visitor passing through. I would strongly encourage anyone to go along - whatever you consider your skill level to be. I learnt such a lot about the how's and why's of pottery through Jane's infectious, joyful passion for her medium and her own pieces are just stunning. My only regret... I live 300 miles away so can't go back every week!"

Jennifer Bailey reviewed: 2 Online Felt Picture Courses - Summer Storm & Raindrops on Roses

"I learnt so much from Bridget's felting course. She has developed her own individual felting techniques and it was fascinating to learn from her. Bridget has excellent teaching skills. She gave clear instructions and tailored advice on techniques for each individual piece of work and person. She is an inspirational person and her energy is infectious. I've never known 9 hours pass so quickly! :)"

Hugh Jones reviewed: Tom Clark: weekend stonecarving course

"I attended a weekend stone-carving course in April. It was a wonderful and inspirational two days. Tom is not just an outstanding stone mason, he is an excellent teacher as well, with a patient and gentle manner. I was delighted with the owl I was able to finish, and was also amazed at some of the outstanding work that the other pupils had completed. Also very noteworthy is the outstanding food, both meals and snacks(all home made), that Tom`s wife constantly supplied us with. Very highly recommended"

January Scott reviewed: 2 Online Felt Picture Courses - Summer Storm & Raindrops on Roses

"Despite this course being 9 hours long, the time just flew by and Bridget's enthusiasm for this medium was really catching. She put the same effort and enthusiasm into each candidates work, suggesting a modified approach where appropriate given the aspirations or limitations of each person (I have damaged fingers), leaving us all inspired. I left this course feeling as if I had really learned something and with a piece of work which - although not quite finished and far from perfect - I was really quite proud of. I can't wait to try another picture at home."

Joyce Bramton reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making - Ely

"I'd found the course through Craft Courses and tried a day session with Jonathan, coming some distance as I couldn't find any courses closer to where I am based. It was worth every effort I made to travel. He is a very knowledgable tutor and clearly knows his craft. The day was very well structured and I now feel able to take this wonderful craft further. Great day and wonderful value"

David Sivocha reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"I went on a course for 2 people, as I went with my mate, and it was a fantastic day. We learnt a huge range of techniques for blacksmithing and had a wonderful time. During the entire day Chris was very informative and very easy to get on with, and he has a natural talent as a teacher. Absolutely worth the price paid and I am looking forward to booking a second course to go back for more! Blacksmithing certainly feels primal and it's fascinating to see how steel moves under the heat. If you want to try something different but seriously enjoyable give this a go!"
