Ruth reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"We've just had a fantastic weekend creating our stone sculptures. It's unbelievable how, with the help of the wonderful Sebastian, you can actually achieve your goals. We were given just the right amount of guidance to really do everything we hoped for, and more. We would thoroughly recommend this course for anyone and the setting really can't be beaten."

Jane Weir reviewed: Five day woodwork course - wood

"I did wonder, when I was driving up to Cumbria to live in my van for 2 weeks in October, if I was nuts, going all that way for a woodwork course, but it was totally worth it! I am back home now, after two brilliant weeks, with two great pieces of furniture a few new skills and more of a clue what I’m doing to show for my time. Right from the start, Richard and Mark were welcoming, friendly and inclusive. They were patient, knowledgeable, good fun and supportive, with bags of experience between them and loads of tips that helped us all get the most out of the fortnight. They kept us all moving along at a pace that meant that we could all finish by Friday but still had time for questions and to learn from each other - particularly handy, as people did different projects, so it was interesting to learn from watching them. Having completed the two courses I feel like I have a lot more idea of what I need to do to get up and running in a workshop - I just need to find somewhere to host all my projects now!"

Julie Harrison reviewed: Introduction to Needlefelting

"A really inspiring day. Lynne is so creative in her art ..... and also in her home and culinary vegetarian cuisine and cakes. This is the second workshop I have attended (Rag Rugging being the 1st), and both have been as enjoyable and inspiring as each other and the atmosphere was very welcoming, and relaxing. I have acquired technique skills and "know-how" ability from both, and look forward to combining both media to create my own artworks. The food was truly delicious again, and it was interesting to meet new and artistic people. I am now hooked & have spent most evening since this workshop needle felting in front of the TV. !! As my friend Debbie said (also attending the course) "I have realised during this wonderful day, how important 'being creative' is to my general, mood & outlook on life" .... I totally agree, so thank you Lynne for an inspiring and healing day."

Richard Vickery reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Just had a day long course with Nigel. Just awe inspiring. His enthusiasm and skills are infectious! I came home with Christmas presents I forged that I am proud of. Will definitely be booking another course. I cannot recommend this highly enough. If I had done this course 15 years ago, I would be seriously looking at changing careers - it is that inspiring!"

Susan Earnshaw reviewed: Mosaic day workshop on Orkney

"A very enjoyable day. Loved the hands on teaching and getting as messy as you like without having to worry about the furniture, which is the only way if you learn from a book! Learnt a lot about the different mosaic techniques and being able to experiment to find your own preferences is a definite advantage of doing the course. Catherine is very talented and knows her art inside out, plus a very nice lady. She made the class warm and friendly."

Jane Cunningham reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"Had a really enjoyable Saturday at Hot Walls in Portsmouth on one of Alice's courses. It was lovely piecing together different colours and textures of yarn to create your very own piece of weaving to take away. I loved it, and bought a loom and will be doing something on my own as soon as I get the time. Would love to do another course."

Sharon Tew reviewed: Mosaic one day workshop for adults with Caroline Jariwala, Birmingham

"I have just completed the one day Mango Mosaics course - I can highly recommend it. Having no experience with Mosaics, I was a little apprehensive but it was a small group of 3 (there's only ever a maximum of 4 per group) and so Caroline had time to explain the process from a blank piece of plywood to finished article. You will certainly finish the day with enough skills to go away and make your own Mosaics. The course is run with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and lunch is provided (and regular tea and cake breaks!). If you're in any doubt, go ahead and book it, you won't regret it."

Viki Burton reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"A great day at Alice's workshop in Portsmouth. The workshop was very informative and unrushed and we were all able to work at our own pace which allowed each of us to create a unique weaving to take home. I have been able to try out what I learnt at home and would love to come on another workshop in the future to get more ideas."

Sarah reviewed: Weekly pottery/ceramics classes

"An amazing atmosphere; Alison is warm, friendly and makes you feel at home. As a beginner, you start out making a range of basic shapes and items such as solid figurines, bowls and tiles - progressing to more complex and intricate designs. Alison allows you freedom to create, think outside of the box and play with your ideas; all whilst guiding you along the way, whenever required. Pottery and Ceramics are both a life-long career dream of mine and to be able to live it, see it, feel it and do it is amazing! If you are creative, enjoy projects and want to get lost in all things arty, this is definitely the course for you! *****"

Ruth Lawton reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"After being wowed by the beautiful pieces of fused glass art in the Forge gallery, I decided to have a go myself and signed up for a one day course. Despite being 'out of my comfort zone' working with such an unfamiliar material, I had a fantastic time. Siobhan is a wonderful teacher who mixes patience with inspirational instruction. Everyone was friendly, and lunch was yummy. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore a new medium in their creative journey."

Tom reviewed: Blacksmith forgework Learning Experience Day

"Me and my brothers had an amazing day. Blacksmiths are magical. They basically created items for our progress through history using a mixture of science and art. Robin and Daren were so skilled, knowledgeable and friendly. Having never done anything like this to walk away with a completed project was inspiring. (Now want to set up my own forge!) Would highly recommend."
