richard foreman reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"This course is ideal for the aspirant wood turner and you could not have a more knowledgeable or inspiring teacher than Colin. As an absolute beginner I appreciated the open and friendly style of Colin's instruction and I came away with some nice pieces of wood but, more importantly, the necessary information to start turning on my own. The whole day was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would recommend this course without hesitation."

Kitty WONG reviewed: Two day stained glass workshop including glass painting

"I'm studying heritage conservation with the research topic relating to stained glass in Hong Kong. This drives me to put the theories I learnt into practice; and I'm extremely lucky to have Nick as my great tutor. I did enjoyed and impressed by this workshop very much with Nick's patience, skillfulness and passion for stained glass. It's my honour and pleasure to be Nick's first student from overseas and I'll try my best endeavour to respect the craftsmanship; and to promote the appreciation and conservation of stained glass with my friends thereafter ! ... Many thanks for Nick's kindness and professionalism; and I do hope to pay a visit to your studio again very soon !"

Sally Newton reviewed: Upholstery and upcycling furniture and interiors

"Enjoyed a fantastic day on the course with Lucy in her beautiful home. As a complete beginner I had been a little nervous beforehand but Lucy was great- clear, calm and patient and there was a really relaxed atmosphere. There was also great food and endless drinks. I learnt a lot and feel really inspired. Lucy was very generous with her help, advice/ tips and her time and is clearly able to tailor her approach to the needs and level of each person in the group. She also made sure that even beginners like me came out with a product to be proud of. I would not hesitate to recommend Lucy's workshops."

A completely new craft for me, we were able to experience a number of traditional upholstery processes, and our finished stools will be treasured forever I'm sure. Beautiful little items. The location at cardigan Pizza Tipi was perfect for me. Close to home and a beautiful setting to enjoy a delicious lunch with new friends on the riverbank."

"I would like to thank Raya Brown for fantastic time we had last Saturday. My friend and I are absolute beginners in felting and wool painting. We were a bit apprehensive at the beginning but the way Raya structured her course made it so easy to learn, enjoyable and relaxing! Raya offers a unique therapeutic way of working with fibres and students enjoy the process well as the end result. My friend and I are so pleased with our wool paintings. Would recommend to anyone."

Blacksmithing Hammer Skills reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"My son Ted attended this course in the summer after he declared that he wanted to train to become a Blacksmith. This was just the kind of introduction we wanted to him to experience to see if he was serious! I must say that the course was impeccably organised and impeccably carried off by Bob and his forge partner. Ted came home after a full day's work, battered and bloodied but clutching a toasting fork and wearing a huge grin on his face. Bob was a marvellous instructor, so much so that Ted is keen to go back and undertake a few more days work to further hone his enthusiasm. Thank you Bob! Ted's Dad"
