Dennis Heyderman reviewed: Glass Enamelling on Copper for Jewellery - kiln enamelling

"A well structured day with an excellent teacher and not a minute wasted. A chance to compare two common table top kilns, learn the health and safety aspects and study the behaviour of opaque enamels when fired. Eleanor said 'Everyone has to start somewhere'. This is the place to start."

Heidi Bawden reviewed: The Annie Sloan complete chair makeover Workshop at La Di Da Interiors

"I am so, so glad that I went to the chair workshop! It's something that I have always wanted to learn more about - and was not disappointed. Steph was brilliant with explaining each step of the process and was so patient and positive at guiding each one of us. Her enthusiasm and passion for what she does was a joy to be around! The little touches of the cakes and plenty of tea and coffee was very much appreciated, and the lunch was also a huge hit... especially from working up such an appetite. I will definitely be join another workshop and have quite a few friends and family members who now also want to join me after seeing what can be created! Overall a fabulous way to do something a little different, learn some new skills from a brilliant teacher and be in great company!"

Lorain love reviewed: Sterling silver beginners pendant making jewellery course

"We booked this course as a birthday treat for my sister-in-law. There were 5 of us in total with varying degrees of craft ability and Sarah was fantastic, spent time with us all guiding us through intricate processes. Sarah and her family went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure the day was special. We were all so pleased with the end results which gave us all a unique piece of jewellery to treasure and remember the day by. I would definitely recommend it."

Rowena reviewed: Upholstery/cushion making

"I took a chair with an upholstered back and seat, so was pushing the envelope in terms of scope for a weekend. I had loads of contact with Jo beforehand regarding what I could expect to achieve and also about a broken spring that needed replacing. The studio is in the centre of town which means there is loads of choice for lunch, you get a one hour break, which you need. The course is brilliant. There were 6 people on the October weekend and we were doing 5 different types of chairs between us. 3 of us were using traditional techniques and 3 more modern using foam etc. Jo is a really good teacher and only explained each step as we came up to it. When necessary she gave a time limit for a particular task, which was brilliant when I started getting tempted to "faff" too much. Jo kept everyone busy and I believe everyone achieved what they wanted. I was really impressed with what I got done and thoroughly enjoyed myself as well. It is hard work and more physical than I'd appreciated but that only serves to enhance the sense of achievement once you get your work home. I would thoroughly recommend this course."

Michelle Webb reviewed: Glass Enamelling on Copper for Jewellery - kiln enamelling

"Learnt loads of new skills. Eleanor gave very clear instruction right from the beginning. New information was drip fed throughout the day at just the right level; with plenty of opportunity to recap when needed. She managed to achieve and excellent level of supervision whilst also letting up work on our own and at out own speed. Plentiful cups of tea and some very calm rescues when things went a limitless wrong. A perfect environment for first time enamellers"

Paul Ryan reviewed: Blacksmith forgework Learning Experience Day

"Just spent a fantastic day with Robin and Darren, ideal for people wanting a taster in blacksmithing. Leant some useful techniques and insight into working with metal. Darren and Robin are great teachers and between them have a wealth of knowledge which they readily share. Their enthusiasm is infectious. We made 2 very useful axes, one with an adze head on the reverse which was great fun to forge along with a very beautiful toasting fork. I would whole heartedly recommend anyone who has an interest in trying out blackmithing to attend."

Mike Deane reviewed: Green wood tables workshop at Lambside Farm - Week 1 (6 Days) Week 2 (3days)

"Peter is a superb craftsman who is happy to share his extensive knowledge and experience. Although I had done several courses with Peter before, I found this course challenging as I was making a fairly large dining room table, but I was very well supported throughout the design and making periods and added new skills to those previously learnt with Peter. We now have a table which looks great in its setting and with which my wife & I are very pleased."

Rebecca reviewed: Beginners sewing classes on one to one basis

"I went to this class yesterday for the first time and loved it. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. It was really an intermediate project rather than a beginners project but the others who had been going for a while helped me with the tricky parts and I am really excited to have made my own bag with a lining, zip and box corners. I think Bridget and Karen try to choose a project each month that practises a new skill and I am looking forward to the next one. It's definitely easier to bring your own sewing machine, but there is everything there that you might need or have forgotten. A great class overall!"

Stefan Swoboda reviewed: Green wood tables workshop at Lambside Farm - Week 1 (6 Days) Week 2 (3days)

"The nine days at Peter's workshop where exceptional rewarding. I had the privilege to share this experience with my 14-year-old daughter, who made her own beautiful piece. It was challenging, fun and we learned so much, not only new woodworking skills but also about ourselves and about each other. Peter was the ideal teacher and coach for us, always ready to help and never dominant. His workshop with its outside space is just perfect to be creativ."

Chrissie Harper reviewed: Five day woodwork course - wood

"I have just completed the 5 day Course 1. It was BRILLIANT! Prior to this course I had zero knowledge/experience. We were very quickly hands on with the tools, not overkill on lectures, and the 45 min daily talks after lunch were genuinely really interesting. The pace of the course was perfect, Richard and Mark are natural teachers. As there are only 4 students for the 2 teachers you have their help constantly when needed but they also let you get on with it whilst keeping an eye on you from the other side of the workshop. I made a spinning stool and was amazed by the variety of techniques, tools, machines etc that I was taught to use making this one item. The reaction I've received from the photos I've posted on my facebook account are indicative of how professional the finished item looks, I still can't really believe that I made it! I'm definitely going back to do one of the other courses. Thank you Richard and Mark for a fabulous week."

Tessa reviewed: Rag rug/rag wreath making day in North Herefordshire

"Jenni's courses are such a treat and so inspirational. This course is set in the most beautiful tranquil location and the lunch is amazing. The course is very well taught and provides the perfect balance of teaching, free practice and individual tuition. Jenni is very helpful but not overbearing or bossy! This is my second course with Jenni and I have loved both of them. Thank you"

Russell Green reviewed: A Dry Stone Walling Workshop Bedfordshire

"Huge thanks to John and Mike for providing a fabulous day of learning and laughter! We were a small group of four which proved ideal for group and individual coaching in the challenging art of dry stone walking. John is patient, encouraging and with a dry sense of humour. We really felt that we'd accomplished something pretty special by the end of our day which incidentally flew by. As the homework suggests, it looks simple but isn't! Johns ability to eyeball a stone and with a deft hammer blow make it fit seamlessly into place is a joy to behold. My family booked this for a Fathers Day present; A great gift with happy memories! Russell Green provisional dry stone waller!"
