Lynne Jones reviewed: Botanical Prints and Eco-Dyeing in West Wales

"Excellent course content - a lot learned and the pieces we took away with us at the end of the day are absolutely gorgeous and I will definitely wear my scarf. The venue was perfect with lots of space to work in make a mess. Claire was a great tutor, very approachable and knowledgeable and Suzi is just so helpful and friendly. Lunch was provided and it was wonderful! Home cooked, and so tasty - as we had vegetarians and gluten-free folks with us their dietary needs were catered for and we all had the same but it was so deliciously yummy it was not obviously specialised - Juliet is an amazing cook. I will be booking again and I highly recommend this workshop 5/5"

Hazel Jeffrey reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"I have just spent a day with my sisters at Kate's immersing ourselves in sculpting willow - learning a new and exciting skill. Kate was incredibly supportive throughout, spending time with each of us and showing us how to construct a heron, a sitting hare and a running hare between us. I don't think any of us really believed we would come home with such huge willow structures and we all felt a great sense of achievement. Kate supplied additional willow so we could continue to work on our creations at home. We all feel we can continue to develop our skills going forward. Thanks so much for a wonderful day Kate."

Tim Mobbs reviewed: Hand forged rustic knife course

"Had a fantastic day with Andy. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions. This was hands on from the word go until the knife was completed. He was great at letting me have a go, crack On and only stepped in when needed. My favourite birthday present ever! So good I’m currently trying to work out how to turn my shed into a smithy! I would recommend this to absolutely anyone who has an interest in blacksmithing."

Jacqueline Jeynes reviewed: Open Spine Bookbinding in West Wales

"Had a great day making my Open Spine bound book at Carole King’s workshop on Wednesday. Lots of different papers to choose from for the cover so this time I picked a very girly, red-hearts on blue background – definitely not my usual choice! Bit fiddly in places, but we all finished on time and everyone’s was very different. I love my book so will use it for all the small sketches and paintings I have done over the years rather than just look at a beautiful – but empty – book!"

Debbie reviewed: Conscious Interior Decor; For holistic living

"I've now attended 2 Interior Design days with Lucy and the same group of ladies. We all enjoyed the first day so much and wanted to learn more, so we booked a second day. We're also hoping to book a third day in 2018. We've covered the basic principles of interior design (a mix of theory and practical tasks) and had the opportunity to discuss our own ideas and projects along the way - these days are really inspiring and have helped me with my own projects at home. Lucy is an excellent host - I love the informal, relaxed atmosphere for learning and the home made food and drinks throughout the day are fantastic! I would highly recommend these courses."

Julie and Tony reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"We have had two wonderfully nurturing days with Trisha so far. The first to make our pots and the second to glaze them. She encourages you to play with the clay and the glazes and I have rarely seen my husband so engrossed. A delicious and relaxing lunch in the middle of the day just added to our sense of wellbeing. Thank you Trisha."

Cathy T reviewed: Beginners lino printing

"I go on courses when other people go on holiday and as it happened 2 booked courses had been cancelled. It was at this stage I discovered Slamseys printing courses and had a rush of blood to the head, booking 4 courses in the Autumn 2017 programme. I started to panic: What if I didn’t the first one and had paid the fees for 3 more? Would the content overlap too much that I wouldn’t learn much and get bored? What is I didn’t like the tutor? It has been a total success! These courses are equal in standard to the mosaic courses run the artist Anne Schwegmann-Fielding, another professional artist, and previously the best I have attended. Ruth Wheaton is a very experience tutor class and gently moves students on so that the all the activities are completed and yet there is flexibility. The equipment and block printing ink are freely available when you need them and there are lots of helpful tips along the way so that you can continue at home. She has a real love and understanding of the print-making process. The description on the website is full and very accurate and if you explore the super website you will see the standard of work which is possible achievable to. Each course covered a different area. To me learning how to build up a design and use the colour wheel to make all the colours needed from red, blue and yellow ink has been really useful. I believe I have a acquired very thorough grounding and with practice at home, and likely achieve very satisfying results. The details list the kind of people who will enjoy the courses. I would say that with Ruth’s very gentle teaching style, providing you consider yourself ‘crafty’ you will get a great deal out of them. You need no more knowledge than having done potato printing and having enjoyed the process. You will meet a whole variety of people. I call myself a mosaic artist, but not having done any printing in a degree module for nearly 20 years because of a depressive illness resulting in complete loss of confidence. Everything associated with Slamsey’s is of the highest quality and matches the branding of the website. The barn is a very large airy space and very conducive to encouraging art activities. There being no more than 6 in a class there is no need for the diffident to feeling overwhelmed. …. and there is plenty of parking! What more can I say? Only I am already planning to join more course in the future. My money was well spent! Cathy T, Chelmsford 20/10/17"

Nicola Gordon reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Absolutely loved Kerry's soy wax candle making course and can thoroughly recommend it to others. The location is idyllic - picture perfect stone cottages in a quiet rural village - and Kerry has a lovely warm welcoming manner. The workshop itself was well paced, hands on, well organised (all equipment set out at each table place) and interactive. Really interesting and lots of fun. Go with a friend, escape the usual Saturday morning routine and enjoy."

Steve Lumb reviewed: Box making weekend in Cumbria

"Excellent course and Mark a very patient teacher and balanced the right amount of teaching and demonstration with allowing me to get on with my box and quietly supervising. End result a beautiful box, far nicer than anything else I have ever made and a shed load of new skills. What my wife didnt bank on when she booked the course were all the essential items of workshop equipment I will now need to buy to kit out my own workshop ?"

Chris Lowin reviewed: Full day leather craft workshop

"My girlfriend treated me to the full day leather craft workshop for my birthday. I'm so glad she chose Rosanna's course because it was a delightful day. Rosanna has a great combination of leathering and teaching skills which makes the day informative and relaxed. There are a number a items you can choose to make, I made a card and passport holder which I personalised and dedicated to my girlfriend. If you are interested in leather craft as a hobby or perhaps a business venture, this course is definitely a great place to start. Thank you Rosanna!"
