Jenny Hughes reviewed: Macrame - Wall Art

"I was a first timer at macrame as it was a Christmas present so not sure what to expect. However I was warmly welcomed and felt relaxed straightaway. Just the 4 of us on course as one cancelled which meant extra help and advice. Overall an excellent afternoon out and would fully recommend a craft course at Little Craftery. The jewellery course looks very interesting. Jenny"

Martin Wilson reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"I attended this course with Bob in December as a surprise for my oldest son who is 16 (he wants to be a black smith). The day was excellent! Bob was great with working with both my son and I at the same time, even though we had different skill levels. He is extremely knowledgeable and not only great at black smithing, but also great at explaining the process for learners! I definitely recommend this course. Thanks Bob!"

Carla Jones reviewed: One day silver jewellery making in Worcestershire.

"What a lovely way to spend a rainy day, tucked away on a cosy barge sat by the log burner making jewellery. Jonathan has a wealth of knowledge about jewellery techniques and we spent an enjoyable time learning some of these before starting our chosen silver piece. I chose to make a bangle and I really enjoyed customising it to make it all the more special. This is such a unique experience and I highly recommend this course."

Alison Pink reviewed: Book Folding Workshop

"The book-folding workshop with Sara was perfect ! Such a relaxed atmosphere with excellent instruction for this simple but extremely effective technique requiring just a book, a pencil and a ruler. Some of my friends shared photos of additional books that they had transformed at home that evening. I can see that this can be addictive ! Thanks to all concerned.5"

Mark Parsons reviewed: Oak stool making experience - rustic carpentry & green wood work

"Ian was a fantastic tutor - passionate, knowledgeable, skilled and patient. For 5 hours I lost track of time and was immersed in a very different and new (to me), but ancient, skill. Both the mallet and stool I created have been in use today!"

"A lovely way to spend a morning! The workshop in Kerryann’s cosy kitchen was so well prepared and organised, very informative, relaxed and fun! And the candles we made looked so professional- I can’t wait to use it. Great choice of scents - something for everyone. The homemade cake was pretty special too!!! Gillian Herrity reviewed: Making a stained glass leaded panel

"A wonderful surprise gift from my daughter, which couldn't have been better. Having always said that I would love to do glasswork I actually got the chance to step into this fabulous Aladdin's cave of glass art and ,have a go. Caryl was a fabulous tutor, so patient and alert to the different skill levels of our small group, giving plenty of support if needed. It was inspirational to see her cutting complex shapes in a piece of glass as if it were butter. The materials and tools were excellent , with a wide choice of glass colours and finishes available to create your own heirloom. A fabulous day with a chance to chat, over a great lunch and come home having learned new skills, with a masterpiece, what more could you want?"

Norman Wake reviewed: Digital Photography - Improvers with St Ives Adult Learning

"This was a Christmas present by my wife and she chose well. The number in the course was just right so that the tutor could give us individual attention when needed. The course was more extensive than I expected and we covered a lot of ground. I now feel I know my camera much better and I can use ALL its features both in pre-set and manual modes. The course tutor is excellent and I am considering going on to the next level when it seems appropriate."

Adult and Community Learning responded:

"Thanks very much for your review, your comments are much appreciated. St Ives Adult Learning"

Alex Desborough reviewed: One day welding course: an introduction

"Very much enjoyed the day and found Julian to be friendly, knowledgeable and he explained things clearly. The destructive testing was interesting to understand what a good weld looks like and also what to look for so you don't have to break it to know. Certainly worth the money for a very full and insightful day (and even for the 8 hours of driving from London and back for me). Only practiced mig though we did cover other types. Gave me confidence to do some welding myself and have a reasonable understanding of what I'm doing. Thanks Julian"

Donna Mulvey-Jones reviewed: Painting and Drawing one day workshop for adults with Penny Mason, Birmingham (NO CLASSES UNTIL MARCH 2021)

"Penny is a miracle worker! What a fun day of learning and with such great achievement and inspiration! I originally only attended the course to keep my Mum company. I’ve never been able to draw before. When I started I was actually worse than I thought. But within hours I’d achieved more than I could have thought possible with Penny’s help. The whole day was different and fun. Penny welcomed us into her beautiful home, inspired us greatly in many ways and her wonderful husband kept the coffee on tap and got the homemade soup on. I would absolutely recommend to anyone and hope to go back for more."

Eleanor reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our day making bangles in Jolene's workshop. She is a supportive and encouraging teacher and there was just the right balance of creative freedom and gentle guidance. By keeping the numbers small Jolene is able to give you loads of help at every stage of the process- if it's needed. We'd never done metal work before but this workshop is suitable for any skill level and we were really pleased with what we made."

Ariana Hardison reviewed: Masterclass - create your own perfume - Morning and Afternoon events

"Having always wanted to create my own perfume, this was the perfect opportunity to do so! The class was such a lovely way to spend an afternoon, surrounded by a friendly group of couples and best friends alike all learning about how scents are made and at the end all of us walking away with completely different concoctions that suited everyone differently. Sara explained the process before we started which really enhanced the whole experience, telling tales of the master perfumer and getting an understanding of how we were going to create our personalised perfumes. Really happy with the outcome and already thinking of booking it as gifts for some of my friends who would love to do it! Great crafty afternoon!"

"Sarah is an excellent teacher! She is incredibly patient and friendly. She guided me through the entire process of making two rings that I love! She has a lovely and well equipped studio in her garden. Sarah would demonstrate and explain the process at her desk before having me work on my own rings at the student desk. I would love to take more classes with Sarah again!"

Jo brackley reviewed: Fused Glass Half Day

"I did a workshop with Julie today having received a voucher for Christmas. Julie’s communication prior to the workshop was great and the workshop itself was brilliant. Julie helps you by knowing what is possible or not but let’s you decide on what you want to do and helps you to execute it by giving you tips without taking over. Haven’t seen the finished product yet but it won’t change my review. I’d definitely recommend this course!"

Julies Handcrafted Glass responded:

"You're more than welcome - I had great fun supporting you. I am excited for the end result when your work comes out of the kiln ."

Delia reviewed: Weekly upholstery workshops with Cherry Dobson

"I was lucky enough to attend a five day upholstery course with Cherry Dobson. I am a complete beginner and had no idea what to expect. Cherry’s approach was extremely professional. She guided me through each step, was extremely patient and has a wealth of knowledge on her subject. I finished the week with a fantastic winged armchair, now in tartan fabric!!! I cannot recommend this course enough. I have booked to return in November with another challenge! I think the course was also made enjoyable by the great bunch of people learning alongside me. Now totally hooked on upholstery."

Linda Spence reviewed: Upholstery and upcycling furniture and interiors

"What an amazing day. I am so proud of the chair I reupholstered. Lucy was inspiring, attentive and so happy to pass her knowledge on. I learned so much from her, not just through her help and advice on my project but also through her help and advice to the other person on the course. I very nearly finished my chair on the course but with the skills learned I had no problems finishing off the following day at home. Thank you Lucy"
