Michael Warman reviewed: Piano Lessons

"Laura is very patient and calm, gently encouraging one to keep going. Lessons have changed and adapted according to the mood of the moment and we have mixed up practice and theory. I needed some help to get back into playing the piano for pleasure after years without having one. Have definitely improved within and between lessons. Some of her suggestions were really helpful. Very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!!"

"Booked a morning candle workshop with a friend and we both found the class very interesting. We were taught how to make a variety of candles and were able to choose the colours and fragrances for ourselves. chay hedger reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"I attended a one day course with Alex as a present from my wife and had a fantastic time. the day was very relaxed in a great setting. I feel that i learnt such a lot and really appreciated the way Alex explained things and demonstrated on a sample and then let you have a go on your own piece. it was nice to achieve such a lot in a day and then take home what you'd made. I would highly recommend a day with Alex to anyone regardless of experience as he has so much to share. I aim to book another day to take things a step further."

Gary Spruce reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"The "Introduction to Green Woodworking" course did not disappoint. Peter's blend of hands on teaching with quiet encouragement made the weekend both rewarding and relaxing at the same time. What I liked particularly was the freedom to follow one's own ideas (within the time constraints) and the ability to choose the materials to suit. I made a coffee table out of a beautiful piece of elm with ash legs. I have years of experience working with wood at home and as a recently retired DT teacher, but I was still able to learn a lot from the course. Peter's obvious love for the materials and processes used shines through. The processes are a joy - as someone said on the course, "the travishing is ravishing". I was truly sad to end the weekend in the beautiful setting of the Devon Green Woodworking centre. It was well worth the trip from Cheshire and I'm sorely tempted to return for another longer course. Thankyou Peter"

Dalila reviewed: Intuitive Collage for Healing, Personal Development & Wellbeing

"I start saying that I love all courses I have attended with Kassi, due to her warm, empathy and great professional way of working. Even, I like to watch her videos because I can breath a calm and joyful atmosphere while she is painting and creating. They are very clear and she takes us by hand for creating a collage at our pace and time. We can follow her suggestions or we can go on by our own way with a complete freedom, or mixing the two ways. I have never created collages, so, to me it was a new sensation to love and to be committed so much while I was creating. It's a process so engaging that I have never thought it would be. The first one I enjoyed a lot, the second one was able to make me stuck, but it knocked to my soul for being finished. An amazing discover I did was that our collages speak to us in a such clear manner that it seems unbelievable! the second one demonstrated that there is a speech we have to ourselves but usually we don't hear. So, for this time, with Kassi's help and guide I am able to listen to what I whispered to myself. Kassi makes me so comfortable because she doesn't judge anything, she guides me along the path to comprehend what I am listening. She uses such a delicate way, she asks letting us to reply or not and in our own way, so she engages our discover in a useful, empathic way, sometimes funny, sometimes not so much, but always in a manner that I who I am a counsellor admire and esteem. Each course with her was a surprise and a deeper relationship with myself. Thank so much Kassi!"

Miles Keeping reviewed: Chair making course at Sallerton Wood

"I went on a chair-making course in May 2018 and had a fantastic time. Andy is a great teacher who enabled all course participants to develop their skills, no matter what their starting point - we all came away with wonderful chairs, pieces of furniture to be proud of. Sallerton Wood is a beautiful and peaceful environment in which to learn and live (we all camped on site) and this, combined with Andy's relaxed approach, makes courses here an excellent way to learn new skills and develop existing ones. I would thoroughly recommend Sallerton Wood courses to all."

I have already booked my next course."

Irvin Allen reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"I can’t imagine Peter ever getting less than 5 stars - both he and the course are an absolute treasure!! His direct and gracious teaching style are inspirational and confidence-building and even total novices were soon sharing opinions and ideas. I came away mesmerised with his real understanding of the properties of natural material and how well designed tools can treat it so sympathetically. And, of course, what a great way to meet other people!! The humour, support and cooperation within the group was lovely although there was so much going on you could just keep your head down and get on with it if you wanted. I’m gonna do more!!"
