Ailsa Wakley reviewed: Introduction to weaving on a frame loom at Bristol Textile Quarter

"I really enjoyed the afternoon, despite feeling terrible with a cold. We were made really welcome with drinks and lovely cakes and I learnt a lot of skills within the 3 hours - enough that I have successfully completed the piece I started and inspired my two boys (8 and 10) who are now well on their way to completing their first pieces. I'm now well into my second piece of work and have been purchasing lots of wool to make more textured work."

Andrina Standen reviewed: The 'Rivet' Leather Card Holder & Key Ring Workshop

"This is a great short course if you want to learn about leather and get the feel of how to make small leather items such as a card holder or purse or key ring. The rivet technique is a great thing to learn if you want to make a few items at home and is very simple and easy to grasp, once you know how. Richard was a great teacher and happy to answer all my questions, I will definitely going back again to another class to learn some more techniques and make something new."

"I bought this as a present for my partner but also joined him on the course. It was absolutely brilliant and we’d definitely go back. We were able to make what we wanted but Colin was also on hand to make suggestions too and show us examples. He is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable and was happy to share this with us. He answered our many questions and we produced some genuinely lovely pieces that don’t look like they were made by beginners. I can’t recommend this course enough !"

Derek reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - 2 days

"I recently completed a 2 day beginner’s woodturning course with Gary and was most impressed. Gary is a very good teacher, demonstrating techniques clearly and simply and allowing you to practice each element and progress at your own speed. I would never have thought it possible before the course that as a beginner I would be able to produce so much in just two days - turning a dibber, a honey dipper, a bowl and an apple! Most inspiring."
