Matt Prosser reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"I was given this one day workshop as a birthday gift and it was brilliant! I had a wonderful day with Colin and under his gentle instruction made a bowl and a goblet! I wasn't expecting to be able to achieve so much but Colin made it very easy to understand and the way he would do a demonstration and then watch as I followed made for some great progress. If you have an itch to have a go at turning then I can't recommend Colin enough. I'll be back for a follow up course once I have practiced up on my own lathe that I am sure I'll buy soon! Thanks very much Colin. I had a really great day."

Dave Clarkeson reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"One day pottery course with Mathew Dimbleby I cannot praise this day highly enough. Before going, I had only had one very short session on a potter’s wheel, but I needn’t have worried. Mathew is an excellent, patient teacher, willing to spend as long as it takes to help you along the way. Seldom have I been so focused, or felt the same sense of achievement as I did during this class. It was also really good fun - Mathew is a top bloke, and we found plenty to chat and laugh about during the day. It has really whetted my appetite and I can’t wait to do more. Thanks very much Mathew. All the best David"

Bernie O'Leary reviewed: Contemporary Furniture Refinishing & Upcycling with Woodcare - 2 Day Workshop

"Oliver is such a passionate advocate of his own furniture restoration that it is impossible not to be inspired by the process of adding value to a decrepit piece of furniture that will live on looking lovely and lasting longer. The atmosphere in the bright workshop is energetic and relaxed and Oliver uses the Socratic teaching method to perfection; result is a piece that a novice will feel proud of. Cups of tea are extraordinarily good too. Thank you."

"A great opportunity to spend a relaxed day with other people who are working on various craft projects, or wishing to try something different. I can thoroughly recommend this very enjoyable 'crafty' get together!"

fiona g reviewed: Lino Printing Day with Oxford Linocut Workshops

"Claire is a lovely tutor – just the right balance of theory and practical, fun and safety, she was always reassuring and positive, and gave us all the right amount of attention - help and advice on technique and design - to ensure we got what we needed to come away with our own personal lino block. She's given me the confidence to try this myself in the near future. I was really thrilled to produce a dozen cards with my print and will be proud to send them to friends and family. Nice touches with the tea, biscuits and cakes too. Thanks Claire!"

Kay Watson reviewed: Silver Jewellery Day Workshop at Studio Budgie Galore, Sheffield

"The silver jewellery making one day workshop was an excellent experience, a real introduction to jewellery making. Melissa and Daisy were the tutors on the day, with a group of 9, so plenty of 1-1 time when needed. I learned several different techniques, Melissa and Daisy are great teachers and very patient! I came away at the end of the day with a very respectable, wearable piece of jewellery. Highly recommended."

Cate Sirkett reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - Beginners Course - 1 Day

"Ollie is a brilliant teacher. The workshop is calm and spacious and well equipped. Bring a piece you want to restore and you will be amazed at what you can do in a relatively short time. As an amateur restorer myself, I wanted to extend my knowledge of finishing techniques and I am very happy to now be able to practice French Polishing along with my other finishes. Thank you Ollie for a great day learning something new!"

Julia reviewed: Candle making class & bubbly in Brighton & Hove

"I've walked away from Charlie and the Flamingo House with the knowledge and excitement necessary to make candles on my own. I had fun getting to know Charlie as well as the other guests present, swapping stories and having fun while crafting something totally unique to my time in Brighton. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone that wants an irreplecable memento and / or is looking for an artistic outlet that is bound to be beautiful."

Paul St John Bennett reviewed: 2 Day Silver Jewellery Making Course - Ely

"What was amazing ( besides the legendary ginger biscuits ) ( and the lunches ) was how much we packed into these 2 days, not just in terms of practical work, but also the amount of knowledge Jonathan gave us. The three of us on the course not only came away with a ring we had each made ( and now wear very proudly ! ), but also something we had personally chosen and designed - a pendant, ring, and torq in our cases. This means you come away with the enormous satisfaction of making something you want, yourself, and having the knowledge ( and comprehensive notes ) on how to progress beyond that into silversmithing as a hobby or career. Jonathan not only has vast experience and skill, but also the empathy and ability to give his students the confidence to believe they could do really well in the future if they want to. As you can probably tell, I was impressed.....!"

"Thank you Raya for a wonderful workshop! I love wool painting and you were an exceptional teacher. Though you guided us we were also able to be creative with our pictures. I look forward for your next wool painting class. I have a photo of my a very special scenery and would love to recreate it in wool fibres. I can't wait for the next class. Thank you. Leigh Wallace reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"I had a lovely morning spent with a bunch of lovely ladies (and one dragged along husband), learning lots about candles, making them, burning them and caring for them. Everything we needed was easily accessible on the table and all details had been thought of including our personalised stickers to put on our finished candles. Kerry was full of knowledge and was able to answer all our questions. The fresh coffee and homemade berry crumble was the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend and return to Kerry's courses in the future."

Dawn White reviewed: Needle felting course with FURZIE at Trumpet Corner Tea Rooms, Ledbury, Herefordshire

"Brilliant course. Michelle was just so encouraging and dedicated to delivering her skills/knowledge to enable some fantatic results for students. One draw back was not starting on time which made a rush at the end but that was down to the owner of the venue not michelles fault. In my opinion any more than 6 people is too many. Im looking forward to returning in the near future. Good job michelle, everything was well provided by her to create a creature/animal. Fab course Dawn"

Steve reviewed: Learn to carve wooden spoons, beginners and improvers

"This is an excellent course. Very informative, relaxed and enjoyable...and you get a spoon out of it at the end! It is testament to how much everyone was enjoying themselves when I noticed, on a couple of occasions, that there was complete silence as everyone was so engrossed with their carving and in a world of their own. I will definitely be keeping up spoon carving and would like to say a big thankyou to Dave for such a great day."
