Andrea reviewed: Leather Crossbody/Messenger or Tote bag

"It is my first experience with making something with leather. Richard is an excellent tutor, I enjoyed the introduction to tanning process. It is extremely satisfying to finish a bag within a day, and what I particularly enjoy is that while there are example templates, each person made their own individual bag with different designs. It was really helpful to get an information pack so that we know where to get tools and materials. An amazing day and I fully recommend it!"

Beccy Christmas reviewed: Craft Workshop: Learn to make silver art clay jewellery in a day (beginner)

"A fantastic day spent under Sally’s expert tuition on the Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop. Sally is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made the day a fun and rewarding experience. It was amazing to be part of the ‘magic’ that unfolded over the course of the day and wear jewellery home that I had made. Very satisfying indeed and can’t wait to get kitted out to create more jewellery at home (Sally offers great advice on how to keep costs to a minimum). Go and experience the magic for yourself, you’ll have a great day!"

Craft Workshops responded:

"Thank you for your review Beccy - I am so glad you enjoyed your day and are going to do more silver art clay making at home. It really is magic isn't it?! :) Hope to see you again soon, Sally"

Francesca reviewed: Fused Glass workshops at Bere Alston, near Tavistock, Devon

"Wow, what a lovely day! Everything was taught step-by-step so it was easy to pick up. There were loads of skills to learn, but we were supported through all the processes. I was amazed by my final piece of work - I was very proud of it. There was scope to make pretty much anything you wanted, so all our group had completely different designs which was lovely. Wendy was a wonderful teacher - I had a brilliant day!"

Ann Fisher reviewed: Fused Glass workshops at Bere Alston, near Tavistock, Devon

"Firstly, thank you for your time and patience with us! I had a great day learning a new skill and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fingers crossed our artwork comes out of the kiln as good as it went in! After a blank mind at the start of the designing process, Wendy helped with some design ideas enabling my design to look much better! I really recommend this full-day workshop, a chance for some real 'me' time away from the kids! Thank you!"

Celia Marsh reviewed: Cold-process soap making

"I have just come back from the (Beginners) Soap Making Course with Catherine Marshall and cannot recommend it highly enough. There were 5 of us on the course which was held in her beautifully equipped studio in her garden. Catherine started by explaining the theory and science of soap making including the method of calculating the lye - which was not at all as scary as it sounded! She then demonstrated making a batch before we all set work on our own creations. She was incredibly generous with both her knowledge and supplies. We all made two soaps to take home and were given a choice of 5 recipes to work from customising our creations from a plethora of natural and mineral colours as well as a huge variety of exfoliants and dried flower petals. The equipment provided was excellent, nobody had to share and we even had a hob each to heat our butters. I came home excited and inspired! If you are thinking of dipping your toe into soap making then you could not do better than book one of Catherine's workshops."

Stu reviewed: Axe making course

"The axe making course was a great experience, the guys at the forge were friendly and made it easy to understand what to do. They explained things clearly and made sure you knew how to stay safe in the forge. They let you get on with it but always kept an eye on you and only intervened if things were going a bit wrong to make sure you had something to take home at the end of the day. Would definitely recommend to anyone."

Karen reviewed: Needle felted Dogs & Cats in (Halifax)

"No cheating here! Learn how to tranform rolls of carded wool into sturdy freestanding models without the need for pipecleaners or wire! I felt like I was sculpting with wool, and it was totally absorbing and therapeutic (we could barely stop for our lunch break!). As a total beginner, I was amazed with what I achieved under Jo's excellent guidance. I learnt that although you can buy any number of needles and needle felting gadgets, in reality, you don't need much more than a couple of needles, a felting mat and some wool. I feel that I now have the confidence to tackle my own projects and can't wait to get started. The course is extremely good value and in the 6.5 hours, all attendees completed their projects and were delighted with the results. No extra charge for materials, and you can bring your own lunch, which suited me. I would highly recommend this course, Jo is a great teacher and I'm keen to try one of her other courses."

Ivan reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners with Green Fox Wild Crafts

"Tons of knowledge, very good pacing, and encouraging for everyone. Felt like even if you've never had a sharp tool in hand before, you'd be happily chopping away by the end. Was super helpful to have the days activity put into the context of wood and wild craft in general, and get some ideas of what skills to explore next. Lovely day"

Jennifer Grant reviewed: Weekly classes at The Clay Studio

"So good! The studio is incredibly well stocked with everything possible to create your pottery. But almost more important, the atmosphere and quality of the teaching is what makes the studio exceptional. From a complete novice I have found the freedom to be far more creative than I would ever have thought possible!"

Lindsay and Andrew Everett reviewed: Blacksmithing course with Longdog Smithy

"We had such a good day with Tom in his forge. I bought an experience for my hubby’s Christmas present and he was set on making a knife which turned out amazingly well under Tom’s expert guidance. I was able to make a giant hook for all my scarves, all thanks to Tom’s skill and patience..... this was a big achievement for me as I am a proper townie who doesn’t like to get her hands dirty! I would highly recommend a day with Tom and will look proudly at my hook every time I come home! Thank you Tom!"

"On Sunday 17th February I took part in the beginners candle making course, run by Sarah. She made us very welcome and all the equipment was laid out for us. Sarah was very professional during the course but also very relaxed and friendly. I really enjoyed it and I have put my name down for the intermediate course in 4 weeks. I will have a go at making my own candles. Was very inspired by Sarah"
