Jesse reviewed: Automata, mechanical toy & kinetic sculpture at artist's workshop: 4 classes

"I recently completed an automata course, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. Tom, the instructor, was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. His deep understanding of the subject made complex concepts easier to grasp, and he was always patient with my questions. Tom also brought the subject to life with various small automata models that demonstrated the structure and functionality in a hands-on way, making the learning experience more engaging and practical. What I also appreciate is his flexibility with scheduling—he accommodated my availability, making it possible for me to fully engage with the course material. If you’re looking for a comprehensive and well-supported automata course, I highly recommend learning from Tom!"

Sophie Jago reviewed: Blacksmithing experience day - Introduction

" I had the most incredible experience on this blacksmithing course, which was given to me as a birthday present. Giles is a fantastic teacher, breaking down the process with patience and enthusiasm, making it approachable for a complete beginner like me. Under his guidance I was able to make a beautiful flower ornament which I absolutely love. The setting of the forge itself was beautiful, out in the countryside with a lovely cafe opposite. Enso, the forge dog, added an extra layer of charm to the experience. His friendliness made the day even more special. I can’t recommend this course enough. Whether you're a novice or already have some experience, Giles’ passion and skill make it an absolute joy. Thank you so much, Giles, for sharing your knowledge and creating such a memorable day. And thank you, Enso, for being the best forge companion!"

Giles W Clarke responded:

"Hi Sophie, Thankyou for your kind review, it was a pleasure to have you at the forge! It’s always lovely to see someone take some newly learnt skills and apply them to their own design! Thanks again, Giles "

gwyneth surey reviewed: Monthly Pottery Classes

"Although my husband and I arrived over 20 minutes late due to traffic issues we were welcomed by Louise and the group. Most members were in the process of creating a clay Christmas tree. My husband. Bob & I were given instructions by Louise on what to do and off we went! I think I enjoyed the processes a little more than Bob but we both managed to complete our unique versions of a Festive tree. The atmosphere was lovely and calm with a group of very friendly group of women, Bob was the only male participant! I really enjoyed my time at the beautiful setting of Sandwick Lakes, the fun was shining and the Discovery room was filled with light! Our only issue was the venue was a little too far from where we live, so sadly we will not book another course at this present time. But a Massive Thank You to Louise we delivered a wonder session "

Stanwick Lakes Art and Craft Courses responded:

"Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a lovely review. Sorry that you are a little too far away to join us again. We shall pass your comments onto Louise too. Best wishes, The Stanwick Lakes team."
