Ana & James reviewed: Make your own wedding rings - Bristol

"We had a wonderful time creating our wedding bands with Lucy. From first contact through to hallmarking, Lucy was hugely helpful, a great teacher, and so generous, with many thoughtful touches as part of a well-planned workshop. When first considering making bands, we were wary they would look a bit rustic/homemade which wasn't quite the look we were after, but we were delighted to come away with practice and final rings packed with meaning and memories that you would never know weren't made by a professional (of course, having Lucy on hand at all times to guide us through avoided any disasters!). Very happy to recommend Lucy and her work."

Sarah reviewed: 2 Day Silver Jewellery Making Course - Ely

"The two day jewellery course is fantastic. Jonathan is an excellent teacher and his enthusiasm for his subject is infectious. I am (was!) a complete novice, but have come away with enough knowledge to make a start on my own jewellery projects. The pace was good with lots of hands on work as well as some theory. I came away with two lovely pieces that I will treasure as my first makes, plus comprehensive notes on techniques and choosing tools and equipment."

Ema reviewed: Creative Fused Glass for beginners and improvers

"I had a wonderful and insightful class with Nadine who was welcoming and well prepared. We sat in the beautiful garden with plenty of space between participants, overlooking the gorgeous canal. Nadine’s knowledge and interest in fused glass was infectious, I personally felt like I learned about both the history and the material before even getting to the creative part. Nadine’s guidance when coming up with compositions, mixing materials and also the technique was expert to say the least - I had a really lovely day and have come away with a new skill and inspiration to do more. Thanks Nadine!"

Michèle Petri reviewed: Amazing encaustic art day course

"Phil came to our Art club to give a demo Re Encaustic Art. It was so informative and inspiring... 100% enjoyed by all.....I couldn’t wait to go to one of his workshops. .... which I did with my sister -in -law who was a complete art novice. What a brilliant day.... we learnt such a lot and it was so entertaining with Phil. Tea or coffee flowed and time passed all too quickly .... Phil had hardly any time for lunch as we were keen to keep absorbing his knowledge and expertise! We can’t wait to go again although I think Phil might need plenty of warning! What a charming chap with a great sense of humour. We can’t recommend Phil s workshops enough both at his lovely cottage or at an Art club. ...... we re hooked !"

Phil Madley responded:

"Thank you for such a great review. I am so pleased that you both enjoyed it so much. It is very rewarding when people enjoy the day, and also come away with a feeling of achievement and learning. It’s a win, win situation especially when we laughed so much…hopefully you can fit in another visit some time."

"I am looking forward to doing this course and developing my skills and knowledge in the Portraiture genre further. Honestly. Try this I did the beginners class and it was wonderful. Great teaching, lovely people and an oasis from the groundhog day of COVID! You don’t need to be local since it’s zoom, and I would have said a year or two ago that I can’t draw. Thank you Raya Brown"

Magic Wool Art and Craft Studio responded:

Dominique Corlett reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - 2 Day Beginners/Intermediate Workshop

"I did the two day French polishing course with Oli and really enjoyed it. Everything was really well organised with all of the equipment we needed to hand (along with hand sanitiser and socially-distanced work spaces) and Oli explained everything really clearly. He struck a good balance between showing us the process and leaving us to get on with it and steered things so we all got to the point of leaving with a finished project. His teaching style gave me a lot of confidence, even though this was completely new to me and I was amazed at what I achieved in two days. It was stretching but very satisfying and a lot of fun."

Sara Lee reviewed: Creative Fused Glass for beginners and improvers

"I had the best time doing this course. Nadine is a great teacher, a good balance of hands on and hands off support, which gives you space to experiment if you wish to whilst you are learning. I enjoyed the fact the stages were clear, from drawing designs, to cutting glass effectively, before being let loose with all the wonderful colours, textures and your imagination, to create (in my case) some coasters which I was totally thrilled with. Highly recommended on every level."

"What an amazing escape from the stresses of life this course was. Beautiful surroundings. All appropriate saftey measures in place . Im a complete novice so was apprehensive but keen to learn. Carolyn reviewed: 2 Week - Professional Furniture Refinishing Masterclass - Traditional & Contemporary

"I've recently completed the two week Professional Furniture Refinishing Masterclass with Ollie at OP Woodcraft. Ollie has been absolutely fantastic in passing on his knowledge, showing me his skills and teaching me about different techniques and wood finishes. I was impressed with how much I achieved during my ten days with Ollie, I really didn't expect to get so much done! Altogether I worked on eight pieces that were refinished in various ways such as French polishing, waxing and oiling, and I've also learnt various techniques such as stripping, hole filling, grain filling, staining, sealing, cutting back, mopping, touching in and rubbering. Ollie's been incredibly patient with all of my questions, he's given me valuable advice about setting up my own wood care business and also about the different products and tools required for the trade. I can't thank him enough! Without a doubt I can highly recommend doing a course with OP Woodcraft. Thank you Ollie!"

Jenny reviewed: Log to Stool with Gedwood

"This was my first time doing a woodworking course and I really enjoyed it. My stool was not perfect but it is a stable stool and was made by me! We were given clear instructions and support was given when needed but not too much so I felt confident to get on by myself for a bit until I needed help. There was lots of discussion amongst the group about the tools and wood and Ged was happy to encourage discussion and answer questions. Although we went in October we soon warmed up when we were working and there was sufficient shelter from the rain. It was a friendly, enjoyable day out and we will be looking to visit again."

Gedwood responded:

"Thanks Jenny. Hope to see you again sometime soon?"
