J. in Amsterdam reviewed: Exploring Collage - workshop with Julie Galante

"Julie is a calming creative force who embraces where you are at in your art journey right now. Supporting the neat and neurotic to the expansive and chaotic, this collage course was exactly what I wanted it to be. I enjoyed the wide variety of participants in the course and learned to treasure my trash and unleash my creative forces. I'll be on the lookout for more courses by Julie."

Airtily responded:

"Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop (and are now treasuring those envelopes!)."

Dayni JA reviewed: Candle Making Workshop with Bilsington Priory Afternoon Tea

"What a wonderful way to spend the day learning something new. The location for this course is in beautiful surroundings and adds to the overall experience. Karen took us through every step of the candle making process and is very thorough in her teaching. We learned about fragrance, the whole candle making process and everything else needed to make your own candles. Making a large candle in a glass, a smaller candle in a tin and 6 beautiful wax tablets. Using an array of decorations to finish off the tablets allowed us all to be creative. The materials we used were all of excellent quality and Karen has done a fantastic job of presenting the course with social distancing rules in place. Karen is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions While our candles cured we all enjoyed a glorious afternoon tea which finished the course nicely. I would highly recommend Karen & the course to anyone."

The Aromatic Candle Co responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review Dayni, it's very kind of you. Your creations were gorgeous & I hope that they are scenting your home beautifully!"

Clare Sutton reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for Two

"Chris is an excellent teacher - really informative, helpful and patient. My husband and I had a really memorable day in October learning about blacksmithing. It was certainly a day to remember. Chris leads you through the various stages and techniques of blacksmithing and you take the results of your labour (a keyring each) home with you. Everything felt very safe and Covid-secure, with visors, hand gel, painted lines on the floor, etc."

paul porter reviewed: Pattern Cutting for Bags and Introduction to Leather craft - Designing Bags in 3D (1 week course)

"Wanting to design and make bags, but with no previous experience, this seemed the perfect course - i was not wrong. Georgie is an extremely gifted teacher, spending time explain different build techniques, but also backing this up with examples she has made. There was lots of time to ask questions about materials and best practice for items i had in mind to make. The 5 days seemed to pass very quickly, but i have mockups, notes and just as importantly supplier lists to help me in the future, as well as Georgie an email away. Thank you"

Hands of Tym responded:

"Thanks very much Paul for your kind words. I am so glad you found it helpful!"

Melinda Kenneway reviewed: An Introduction to Weaving with a Table Loom, Oxford

"I really enjoyed this taste of weaving. The tutor’s approach meant that I came away with a really good understanding of the potential to create pattern from the warp and the weft, while at the same time having plenty of time to simply ‘weave’ and enjoy the process of using a 4 shaft loom. This course is perfect for beginners and also those with a little experience who really want to explore pattern and texture more deeply. The garden studio is spacious and works well for social distancing ... myself and a neighbour went on the course together and wore face masks and sat well apart, so the course was perfectly ‘COVID’ safe."

Janet Greengrass reviewed: Tree kits - textile landscapes in a box

"I am only disappointed that I am unable to visit Imogen for a course in these extremely restricted pandemic times. I have been very pleased to speak to Imogen and to receive my box for the Purbeck tree. The parcel arrived the following day and I am really looking forward to making up the textile picture. Thank you, Imogen, for your inspirational designs."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"Thank you Janet, I hope there might be an occasion in the future. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy making the kit; it will show the techniques that I teach on my landscape courses so you can adapt these to make up your own designs in the future. Just replace the printed image with your own drawing and use transparent and opaque fabrics in the same way to build up the perspective. I'd love to see how you get on and hope you have fun with it. Best wishes, Imogen."

Ruth Burdett reviewed: An Introduction to Weaving with a Table Loom, Oxford

"As a taster day to give an insight into the craft of weaving, this was excellent. Jeremy has clearly put a lot of thought into his approach, and had 2 (socially distanced) looms - one for each of us - set up in a large room. The looms were warped up in such a way as to let us see the effect both of very simple patterns and of more-complex designs. He explained enough of the theory to give an insight into the possible levels of complexity without frying our brains, and also showed us lots of different samples of work to stimulate our interest and enthusiasm. By the end of the day, we had each woven a lovely sampler to take away - as a momento of the course and a reference for future work."

Ana & James reviewed: Make your own wedding rings - Bristol

"We had a wonderful time creating our wedding bands with Lucy. From first contact through to hallmarking, Lucy was hugely helpful, a great teacher, and so generous, with many thoughtful touches as part of a well-planned workshop. When first considering making bands, we were wary they would look a bit rustic/homemade which wasn't quite the look we were after, but we were delighted to come away with practice and final rings packed with meaning and memories that you would never know weren't made by a professional (of course, having Lucy on hand at all times to guide us through avoided any disasters!). Very happy to recommend Lucy and her work."
