Description

Do you ever feel the need to have some space to just 'be'? If the answer is 'Yes' these sessions could be just what you're looking for. A creative activity is genuinely good for your mental health and overall wellbeing, something that has become much more widely recognised by health professionals and organisations. Starting on Wednesday 21st May I will be facilitating mindful art and craft sessions to be held at Brook Arts Hub from dot painting and basic zentangle to block printing and stencils. Session will run forthnightly and I am open to ideas if there is something you would like to try. It will be a place to unwind and put the daily grind on hold for a few hours, enjoying something creative over a cuppa and conversation with others looking for that space too. The small charge, which is per session, will help towards the cost of supplies and has been kept to a minimum to make them affordable for everyone.

What's included in the price?

Hi everyone I discovered Folk Art painting a number of years ago and fell in love with Canal Art (even though I don't own a canal boat). I took a course with Terence Edgar, a Master Decorative Painter on Roses and Castles at Stoke Bruene Canal Museum which was my introduction to the traditional way to paint this long-established art form. I am a Certified Decorative Artist (CDA) via the Decorative Artists Academy, USA (previously The Society of Decorative Painters), and so far I am the first and only UK citizen to have achieved this. I am also a Certified Powertex Tutor. Powertex is a versatile medium used for fabric sculpting, painting and mixed media which, once cured, is weatherproof. I am passionate about sharing my skills in both decorative painting and Powertex through workshops held at my home studio and other venues in Warwickshire. I look forward to creating with you this year 😊
