Description

Please be aware these Classes & Workshops are intended for people wishing to learn how to make lace, along with students looking to develop their lacemaking skills. However, Tina is willing to offer group celebration & experience days, outside of the normal Class & Workshop dates for those that wish to try this traditional craft, please enquire with a number of preferred dates. This is a consecutive TWO day workshop which would be an ideal opportunity to relax & make lace enjoying the company of like minded people. Come along and try your hand at one of the laces below or work on your current project, or have help starting a new project. Or why not try a new type of lace, perhaps one that you have been meaning to try for a while? Tina encourages students wishing to begin a new lace type to begin at the beginning. This will give you a better understanding of how the lace progresses & hopefully giving you the confidence to carry on with the project, and build up the techniques required to produce the pattern you would really love to do. Often this will entail working a number of samples initially. Attending a class of this nature offers the chance to share tips and experiences that are not found in books, but only from the experience of numerous lace tutors that have guided me. Tina is willing to mentor any student wishing to tackle any of the laces mentioned below for the Lace Guild Assessment programmes. Tina is willing to take students who can only attend on a daily or combination of days at the rate of £25 p/d. There is also limited equipment available to loan or for sale and can advise on the purchase of new/additional equipment as required. Please reach out via the 'message the tutor' button for more info. Tina has been making lace for over 30 years. She is willing to teach in the following lace types: Binche, Bedfordshire, Chrysanthemum, Flanders, Honiton, Idrija, Milanese, Russian & Torchon. She is also able to provide guidance to beginners wishing to start making: Bucks-point, Hinojosa, & Duchesse/Withof. Unlike other course providers, there will be no paperwork for you to fill in, however I would appreciate feedback and for you to leave a review for this course. Tina has direction maps & instructions for anyone attending. There is a variety of accommodation in the area, please ask if you would like more information.
