Tig Welding for beginners

X

Description

The TIG welding class gives you the opportunity to learn the basic processes and techniques needed to effectively TIG weld thin materials. TIG welding is the method of choice for thin materials and also lends itself to welding aluminium, copper, stainless steel and many other materials. If you have never welded before or just fancy a refresher, this class will get you under way. You will get to use professional equipment in an industrial workshop, under the supervision and guidance of our team of professional welders. We will start with a very quick guide to the theory, and then move straight on to putting down some solid welds in a mix of positions and materials. After we have covered the basics, we will then spend the afternoon building a couple of small welding projects, which will give you the chance to put the techniques that you learnt in the morning to good use, and give you some items to take home with you at the end of the day. This class is different to our standard "Intro to Welding Class"; on this class you will only use the TIG Welder to undertake your projects. This class will cover the core skills and techniques needed to get you started on your welding path. It's a perfect place to start if you've not done any welding before, or fancy taking it up for your own DIY projects and want to point in the right direction The class is open to all ages over 15. You will need to wear work-type clothes, no nylon or synthetics, etc. (Jeans and T-shirt most appropriate - expect sparks & flames). Also, safety boots are preferred, otherwise leather or walking boots are best, no open-toed footwear is allowed in the forge for safety reasons. The welding classes are not suitable for people fitted with a pace maker or other similar medical devices.
