Thinking Big - public art and outdoor sculpture
Description
This course is designed for artists and designers at any level eager to explore and develop large-scale sculptural ideas for the public realm or those just wishing to explore working on a bigger scale. Participants will engage in a dynamic two day course that encourages innovative thinking, focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities presented by scaling up ideas. Through a series of hands-on workshops and discussions, you will learn to conceptualise and execute scale models (maquettes) that respond to a site both conceptually, visually and materially. You will develop projects that respond to how a space is used, sustainability, and community engagement, empowering you to develop your sculptural practice onto the next level.
