This listing is for participants to join the live online summer textile mandala workshop. Please note the workshop will be set to UK/London time. In this 2.5 hour live Zoom workshop we will be creating a colourful summer mandala design utilising a combination of 2D and 3D embellishment techniques to create your own hand stitched textile design. Jessica will demonstrate a range of her techniques and ideas including creating your own fused recycled plastic sequin sheets, ruffled couching, stitched washers and fabric fringe ideas. She will also suggest ideas for framing up and displaying your finished mandala. This workshop will be held live on Zoom and will also be recorded so you can receive a link to rewatch the workshop in your own time after the live session. If you cannot make the live session due to differences with time zones you can also just receive a recording link and watch the workshop in your own time. There will be plenty of opportunities to customise your design, ask questions and try out new techniques and ideas. This session is suited to all abilities, including anyone who is new to textiles and stitch. A full materials list for the workshop will be sent out to each participant vie email before the session.

What you will need
A full list will be sent via email before the workshop - and lots of flexibility within this to customise to what you have available. - Fabric base (colour of choice) + embroidery hoop to fit fabric (6 - 8 inches is a good size). - Needles/scissors/thread. - Iron + heatproof mat. - Small embellishments such as buttons/beads/sequins. - Small scraps of materials - textiles/paper/recycled plastics.
