Spoon Ring Jewellery Workshop with Beccy Gillatt at Great Linford, Milton Keynes

Discover the art of jewellery making in Milton Keynes at our enchanting workshop located in the picturesque Great Linford. During this 3-hour class, you will be guided through the process of transforming silver spoons into stunning jewellery. Whether you are a total beginner or have some experience, this class is suitable for everyone. There will also be the opportunity to use spoon bowls to make pendants if you’d like to utilise any cut off sections. You will learn how to: Measure your finger length and work out spoon proportions Decide which, if any, areas to cut from your spoon Use a saw to cut and form your spoon Use pliers, mandrels and mallets to form your spoon into a ring File and sand to make your spoon ring feel comfortable to wear Polish your ring Suitable for total beginners as well as those with some experience Spoons are in addition to your course fees and cost between £12 and £20. Please do feel free to bring your own but ensure they are sterling silver. Silver plate is too hard to work with.

Maker
I was interested in making and designing from a very early age and developed my first jewellery range in 2000. I then discovered my love for teaching in 2004 and have been developing my courses ever since. I have a home teaching studio for 1:1 & 1:2 sessions and in 2017 I set up a teaching studio at Yardley Arts where I can teach up to 11 learners. Qualifications: BA in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery from BCUC and MA Royal College of Art Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.
