Come and discover the magic of jewellery making with silver clay in the 2 hour bite size sampler. If you've ever wanted to make jewellery from silver clay but don't want to commit to a full day workshop then this is for you. Course Description Discover the amazing world of silver clay with this exciting bite size session. This session is ideal for beginners who don’t know how to get started with silver clay. During a jam packed 2 hour session, you will learn all about silver clay and make a beautiful piece of jewellery using the most basic of tools. You do not need any experience whatsoever to join this workshop. Just bring your enthusiastic self. You will be shown how to create a stunning tiered pendant or pair of drop earrings using a variety of skills and techniques. Level: Complete beginner The session will guide you, step by step and you’ll learn the following skills: Setting up your workstation Handling and how to store the clay. How to add textures How to shape and cut the clay. How to dry and refine your pieces Joining silver clay components Learn about the different firing methods How to drill your silver How to polish and finish your pieces. Everything we make in the session will be fired in the kiln and, although we have a strict firing schedule, there will be plenty of making time and plenty of time to polish and finish your jewellery. Whilst our pieces are being fired, we will do a demonstration on torch firing silver clay jewellery. This is the most cost effective way of continuing your metal clay journey without the expense of a kiln. When you're finished we will show you how to attach a bail and a chain to your pendant or ear hooks to your earrings.
What's included in the price?
All tools you'll need are provided and the workshop, including silver clay, enough to make your pendant or earrings. Additional silver clay is available to purchase on the day should you fancy making more pieces of something a little bigger. A standard 18” chain is included in the price, as are basic jump rings and ear hooks. However, if you wish to bring your own, that’s fine, we’ll help you attach them. Alternatively, other chains can also be purchased or ordered on the day at an extra cost. And when you’re all finished, you will be given a jewellery box to take away your wonderful work or you can just wear it.
