Seaglass Silver Ring or Pendant - September 2025

Description

In this class you will create a beautiful sterling silver ring or pendant set with a piece of seaglass. You will start by being shown how to create a bezel that perfectly fits your seaglass piece before attaching to a ring or a chain. You will then learn how to cut, solder, file, burnish and polish your final piece. This class is an ideal step on from my stacking rings or bangle classes but can also be booked as a stand alone for complete beginners. Ideal for those who are interested in learning the first stages of setting stones into their jewellery designs. You will receive an email with further details a few days before your class. Please note: You are welcome to bring your own sea glass, however there is no guarantee that it will be suitable for use. Flat backs and rounded edges are best suited to this style of setting and must be no bigger than 1.5cm in all directions and no thicker than 4mm. We will assess any sea glass brought to determine if it can be used at the start of the class. We will have a selection of sea glass and pottery for you to choose from. Tutor - Zoe Our classes are held in our lovely, cosy studio in Croft Myl in Halifax. We have space for 6 attendees on each class where you will have your own individual workspace, and all materials and tools provided. Refreshments are included, with tea and coffee and snacks available throughout the class. There is no designated lunch break but there are natural breaks in the making process, so please feel free to bring your own lunch. Times vary for each class, please ensure you read the individual descriptions thoroughly, and please be aware that finishing times are an estimate and classes may finish slightly earlier or slightly later than the time given. Please note that classes will be unable to run if the minimum requirement of three attendees do not book on. Please bring reading glasses if required and tie long hair back. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the building there is no wheelchair access to Croft Myl and there is stepped access only to the studio.
