Sew a microwave bowl cozy

Description

Ever wanted to learn a little about quilting. This is your chance. making a really useful microwave bowl cozie in the process. Bowl cozies are the little hug that holds your bowl through the hot and the cold. The can be used for holding a bowl of reheated leftovers, scrambling eggs, soup or even when you are melting chocolate. Simply place your bowl in the cozy, pop bowl and cozy together into the microwave for up to 2 minutes, and then remove your bowl safely from the microwave without burning your fingers. So you can focus on the technique alone, or create a beautiful and coulourful project of your choice. Come along and try something new!

What's included in the price?

We will supply fabric and towels for wadding. Please bring your Sewing machine & a neutral colour cotton thread. If you would like to use a specific fabric please bring the equivalent of two fat quarters of cotton fabric. ** IMPORTANT - both fabric and thread need to be 100 percent cotton ** (because you can't put polyester / nylon in the microwave) We will have some supplies for this course, that have have been provided through generous donations from other crafters to add you your own. Please bring your own lunch or lunch can be purchased in at the Morrisons' cafe or shop. ** We are a small charity devoted to getting people into craft. We aim to keep our workshop price as low as possible in order to make it as accessible as we can. We are always taking in donations of fabric and craft supplies, which we put towards future projects. So if you are clearing out your cupboards, please feel free to bring anything to the session that needs a new home. ** Children (10 years & up) are welcome at the session, but they must be accompanied by an adult (with a separate ticket). If you have any disabilities or support needs we will do our best to accommodate you. Please just drop us an email ahead of time to talk it through.
