Introduction to Punch Needle Workshop at Kirkstall Forge

X

Description

Create your own punch needle artwork using a wide variety of different colours and textures. Start with a practice with four different types of punch needle tool and 4 different types of fabric. Once you know what works best you'll move onto a bigger piece with a good knowledge of the technique. If you've caught the bug and can't wait to keep going there'll be a variety of tools available to buy so you can keep going at home. This workshop will take place in Butlers at Kirkstall Forge. There's a train station on site and Kirkstall Forge wants to encourage sustainability, but if you'd like a parking space let me know and we can get one arranged. Sadly the cafe will not be open, but you’re welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. Safety: There will be hand sanitiser available, social distancing in place and spaces will be limited.. If you feel unwell, have symptoms of covid or have been in contact with anyone who has please let me know so you can be moved onto a future session. If we go into another lockdown this workshop will be postponed until a safe date. Course conditions: The workshop needs minimum numbers to run. In the unlikely event it doesn't meet this the workshop will be cancelled. Your booking is secured by payment and if you choose to cancel you get a refund up to 7 days before the event however after that no refund can be given. Please don’t arrive more than 10 minutes before the workshop is due to start unless previously arranged.

Travelling workshops run by Kim Searle (BA Hons Textile Crafts). Sessions are based on encouraging sustainability - mostly working across West Yorkshire, South Devon, Dorset and Hampshire and the surrounding areas, but willing to travel. Workshops are run with a relaxed, informal and inclusive atmosphere, letting people go at their own pace. Materials, guidance and technical assistance are provided but everyone is encouraged to push their own creativity, and most of all have a good time!
