FAQs
POW offers a small kitchen where customers can access water, tea and coffee as well as a microwave to heat food. We have many small local shops, coffee shops and bakeries in the surrounding area as well as being a 5 minute walk from Asda. Our team will happily give recommendations.
POW is not currently wheelchair accessible.
POW is a not-for-profit open access workshop that provides aspiring and experienced makers, product designers, carpenters, model makers, furniture makers, tailors, engineers, artists, sculptors, and everyone in between, with an affordable and high quality space, equipment and learning to be able to ideate, innovate and create. We offer space, tools and machines to craft, and run workshops and training for hobbyist looking to get away from the day to day, or experienced artists and makers trying to improve their craft or grow their businesses. We started POW to reduce the barriers of space, cost & stress for people trying to make and create. Our vision is simple: Give everyone the chance to make it.
There is no onsite parking at POW.
The closest car park is located at Dragor Road (3 minute walk), and parking is payable via a phone app.
There is also a car park at Asda (10 minute walk), which offers two hours of free parking.
North Acton Is the closest tube station to POW. (15 minute walk).
We recommend that attendees wear comfortable clothing which they don't mind getting a bit dusty!
Attendees will not be able to take part if they are wearing open-toed shoes for health and safety purposes.
It is also imperative that during use of wood or metal machine training attendees must ensure that hair is tied back/ tucked in and that there is no loose clothing or jewellery. Hoodies must be removed while machines are being used.
At POW, we will provide all tools and materials needed for any of our courses.
Once you have completed the course, you will be able to book and use the Items you have had training on, on a pay as you go basis. This means, for example, that if you have completed the laser & engraving course, you will then be able to book and use the laser cutter as and when you wish to. (Depending on availability).
