Description
Over 2 days - 23rd August and 31st August, 2025, 5 hours per day - you will learn how to use a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. The course covers mechanics, co-ordination, drafting skills and plying. You will produce two bobbins of yarn over the two days. The material you use is scoured, clean fleece from local sheep. You will have lots of fun learning these skills. It is a very relaxed course which takes place in East Sussex. There is a gap between the two days to allow you to practise using a drop spindle which we shall lend to you. The gap in time also gives you the opportunity to purchase your own wheel, IF you wish. We would encourage you to bring your own wheel to the second part of the course. We are very happy to answer any questions and give guidance.
What's included in the price?
All materials and equipment are supplied on both days. Please bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee, biscuits, cake and FUN are supplied.

FAQs
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own spinning wheel to the second half of the course. We will do our best to make sure that it is working and help you to use it if at all possible. Some wheels just need a little oil and a bit of persuasion!
