Learn the fundamentals of glassblowing and create your own unique glass piece in this immersive hands-on taster session. Step into the heat of the studio and discover the magic of molten glass in this fun and accessible half-day taster session. Under expert guidance from award-winning glassmaker Jonathan Rogers, you’ll learn essential skills such as gathering, shaping, and blowing glass. This experience is suitable for complete beginners and includes plenty of one-on-one time. You’ll make your own vessel to take home — such as a tumbler, bud vase, or small bowl — using coloured frits to personalise your creation. Held in our brand-new purpose-built studio near Saffron Walden, North Essex, this session offers a unique creative escape in a peaceful rural setting.

Due to the heat and equipment, participants must be aged 16+. Younger guests may attend to watch by prior arrangement.
No — your piece needs to cool slowly in a kiln overnight. You can collect it later or choose to have it posted (postal fee applies).
Please wear natural fibre clothing (like cotton), long trousers, and closed-toe shoes. Avoid synthetic fabrics. We’ll provide safety glasses and kevlar safety sleeves.
