Description
A new carving workshop - craft something out of wax and have it transformed into bronze. We will start with a small block of blue wax and use an assortment of tools to transform it into a new form. Similar to the ring carving, this is a workshop for you to create whatever it is you wish, whether it be a simple pebble/geometric shape, or something more three dimensional. You could craft something contemporary, something full of textures, or even a little character! Your grounding object can be a little sculptural piece to sit on your shelf, something to carry around in your pocket, or to be beside your desk when you need something to fiddle with/hold. It can be a random shape/finish/texture, or it can depict something specific. It is entirely up to you. If you’d like to have a conversation about this before coming to the workshop, please get in touch. I will also have samples and guidance to help give you ideas if needed. The workshop will be three hours; you can choose the afternoon or evening slot. The wax will be posted for casting and will take 2-3 weeks to be cast and finished. This workshop takes place at The Colour Factory in Winchester. An additional bonus for this workshop is that with each booking, 10% of the price will go towards funding workshops in the community for displaced folks and refugees.

I graduated with a BA in Jewellery from UCA Farnham in 2019. I've been making jewellery using a variety of different techniques since I was 12, and knew that I wanted to go study metalwork at uni for a long time! I've been working with wax for a number of years now, and I'm now confident that I can effectively share that knowledge!
