Enamelled Christmas Tree Decorations: Day course for beginners
Description
Join us for an exciting day's introduction to kiln enamelling on copper (vitreous enamel) to make your own unique Christmas decorations. This course is an ideal introduction to enamelling and we will cover the basics of how to work safely with enamel step-by-step, as well as building your confidence in using a kiln and creating beautiful decorations to adorn your tree. The skills you learn will be transferrable to other copper shapes such as jewellery, bowls and making small pictures, so you can expand your creative enamelling horizons with us on future enamelling courses, such as our enamelling on copper bowls or jewellery courses too. We have a huge range of coloured enamels to work with, as well as shimmery enamels for that touch of festive bling! No previous experience is needed, Eleanor will show you how to work safely with enamel, and you will make three finished pieces by the end of the day. We will cover health and safety and using an enamelling kiln as well as giving you practical tips on setting out your enamelling studio working space for your creative projects in future. Please note this course takes place in a working glass studio, so your time will be spent mostly working at benches. Stools are available for sitting down in between times. Thank you. This course is for over 16 year olds.

Maker
I'm Eleanor, I'm a jeweller and glass maker and I love colour, texture, design and pattern. I work across all of these in a variety of media including fused glass, enamel, silver, copper, anodised aluminium creating my one-off jewellery and glass pieces. I retrained as a jeweller in 2012, and I work with my husband at Rainbow Glass Studios where I thoroughly enjoy teaching weekend courses in glass and enamelling. I believe everyone has creativity and I want to encourage you to explore yours!
