Drop Spindle Spinning - Whole Day

Description

Learn how to hand spin your own yarns using a drop spindle. We will go over wool washing, and fiber preparation, how to spin single ply yarn on your spindle, and how to finish and set your yarn ready to take home and work with. The spindle is yours to take home with you, along with a bag of wool to continue your spinning practice at home. The spindle that comes with this lesson is a natural plain wood spindle, and the wool is natural undyed wool. If you would like to upgrade your package to one of the spindles I embellish instead of the plain one, and coloured/fancy wools, I have some packs in the studio shop to choose from on the day. The fancy coloured wool packs and embellished spindles upgrade are shown in the photos on this listing. If you would like to come back for another session to learn plying you can book another of these sessions, or you can choose the whole day (5 hour) listing for longer time if you would like to do some yarn plying on the same day. The workshop may have others attending, or might be just yourself. If you would prefer a one to one session please message me. If you are travelling to get here, there is a farm cottage and a cabin on site that may be available for you to book.

Hi, I'm Lea! I live in the hills in Mid Wales, here at our creative retreat centre, with a holiday cottage, cabin, pod and gypsy caravan for guests to stay in.
