It involves carving with a soft vinyl sheet and a chisel. Carvings created in this way are uniquely beautiful, sharing some of the attractiveness of stained glass. This type of carving is unlike wood carving and is much easier to complete, requiring much less force to create wonderful results. The approximate size of your carving will be 76mm x 76mm. The frame is approximately 110mm x 110mm. This DIY carving craft kit can easily be finished at home – all you need is a flat surface to work from. The work involves attaching a coloured film to the back of your carving and working over your engraving until a black outline remains. Enjoy the peace and calm that settling down to some Japanese carving can bring, learn a new skill and create a lovely piece of carved art to be proud of!
