Description

"Colour is a power which directly influences the soul" - Wassily Kandinsky Colour Club aims to grow your knowledge and build on your experience of colour to help you better understand your colour choices. Using acrylic paints learn colour theory and demystify the jargon used to discuss colour. Develop your own collection of personal swatches and consider ways of choosing a colour palette for use in a range of creative projects: painting, illustration, textiles or interior design. You will also be able to test ideas with a range of mixed media materials including fabric scraps. Colour can be approached in many ways and the more you understand how to mix the exact shade or hue you want the more intuitive the process becomes. Cläre has been passionate about colour for many years and it's a key aspect of her own art practice. She collects pigments, small stones and plant matter to prepare paint, inks and dyes too. "In nature, light creates the colour. In the picture, colour creates the light." - Hans Hofmann "We do not see colours as they really are. In our perception they alter one another". - Joseph Albers
