Box Cushion Cover Workshop

Description

Box cushion cover workshop. Would you like to learn how to make a box cushion with piping and zipper? Working to a sample pattern, you will learn how to make up single piping, a zipper panel and construct all the elements to achieve a professionally finished cover. This workshop will provide you with the skillset and confidence to make square, rectangle or shaped cushion covers to compliment perhaps a chair you're working on or a window seat, etc. Your tutor Sarah is a master upholsterer, and has been teaching upholstery & soft furnishings since 2012, so you can be assured that you will be in safe & knowledgeable hands. If you have a question before booking or not sure what project to bring along please feel free to email Sarah who will be happy to help. MODE upholstery school reserves the right to postpone/cancel a booking in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or because minimum numbers have not been reached. In these circumstances an alternative date/s will be offered or a full refund given.

You supply your own fabric and matching thread, cover pattern, zipper and piping is provided. - Please bring along your lunch. - Tea, coffee & biscuits/cake are available throughout the day. There's secure parking at MODE and the training room is on the ground floor.

"I had the most fabulous day learning the basics of upholstery with the wonderful Sarah who welcomed me into part of her home. This day was part of my birthday present bought for me by my wife and I can honestly say that the whole day was just perfect. Sarah is a brilliant teacher who demonstrated each part of the process in a comprehensive way to ensure that I had a complete understanding of what was required, she then let me try and replicate the process with gentle hints to assist me in getting the required result. At no point was I made to feel inadequate and I was delighted with my finished result and will definitely return for some more instruction but this time with my wife who is also keen to learn."

"This is a very great workshop if you’re interested in learning how to make a traditional lampshade. I have completed my first ever shade and I couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out. Prior to the workshop, I had zero sewing skills and never used a sewing machine before. Sarah was so patient and kindly taught me how to do both. I was a new student in the class, the rest were returning students which was a good sign. It was such a very pleasant weekend. I learnt so much. Time went past so quickly. Now I’m looking forward to doing more classes with Sarah. I couldn’t recommend this class enough. If you’re looking for a traditional lampshade making class. This is the one."
