Beaded Tealight Holder Crochet Workshop ( 1 x 3 hour session) Walton-on- Thames
Description
This is a one off, 3 hour crochet workshop where you’ll be up-cycling Gü Dessert jars! By the end of the 3 hour class, you should have an attractive, beaded tea-light holder. You must be confident with basic crochet techniques, in particular: ★ SC (UK double crochet). ★ DC (UK treble crochet). ★ Slip stitching. ★ Chaining. ★ Counting stitches. This is a fun & easy project but we do have a lot to achieve in 3 hours. I highly recommend brushing up on the above basics before class as this will save a lot of time and means you’ll easily managed to finish a tealight holder in the session! This is a one off course, 3 hours long. I have 2 workshops running: ★ Tuesday 12th August 7:00-10:00pm ★ Friday 15th August 12:30-3:30pm Venue: St. Erconwald’s Church Hall 22 Esher Avenue, Walton-On-Thames Surrey KT12 2TA Cost The course is £46 for the class and includes a kit with everything you need to make a set of tea light holders. Things to bring! ★ Scissors. ★ Wool or tapestry needle for sewing in ends. Kits: Before the course starts, I will send details of the available kits and you can let me know your kit/colour preference. Colour choices will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Class Format: This class comes with detailed class notes and pattern. I provide samples and practical demonstrations of all techniques. Along with the class notes, if the project hasn’t been finished in the allocated time, the students will be able to continue & complete their project in the comfort of their own home, with relative ease as there is a FULL video tutorial. FAQs
My Policies
★ Any child or person under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult, regardless of whether the adult is taking part in the course or not.
★ I am not qualified to teach students with severe disabilities and learning difficulties.
Important Points to Consider
★ My classes are aimed at adults and for the most part, all my classes are filled with adult students.
★ Each class is 2 hours long and involves following prepared class notes, watching demonstrations and then partaking in practical crochet work.
★ My evening classes start at 7:30pm and finish at 9:30pm. Please consider whether this will affect your child – even my adult students can find this a little fatiguing after a day’s work!
★ I teach a maximum of 8 students in a beginners’ class. My beginners classes are nearly always fully booked.
★ I always aim to move around the class, spreading myself evenly, helping each student in turn, so sometimes students that need more help will have to wait until I have worked my way back round to them.
★ Students are expected to engage in a certain level of autonomy, working along with the class notes and following instructions.
★ Since learning to crochet is mostly muscle memory and repetition, I always set “homework” to be completed before the start of the next class.
★ Students understand that during the learning process we make mistakes and it takes repetition and a willingness to try again, in good faith, to progress.
No, this course is not designed for complete beginners.
The online resources will be available through Zenler for at least 12 months. After that, they will be available via archived pages on my website. If you need access after 12 months, please email me with your order details so that I can grant you access to the archives.
