In Kingussie there is a Co-op, pharmacy, post office, 3 cafés & 2 hotel bars. All are within a 5 minute walk of our venue. There is a petrol station in the next village (Newtonmore). Please note most
services close at 10pm.
We have a large range of machines available to use at the retreat but we know that some sewists may be particularly fond of their own machine or its particular features
If you do choose to bring your own machine it must be PAT* tested prior to the Retreat. This is a condition of our insurance & is non-negotiable. Most electricians can do this for a small fee & we will need to see that the sticker is present & in date before use.
Portable appliance testing, the examination of electrical appliances and equipment to ensure they are safe to use.
All the chosen patterns are beginner/intermediate level - with various customisations which can be added or left out depending on your skill level. Everyone from confident beginner to highly experience sewists are welcome on our retreats. Basic sewing machine experience is essential, e.g. how to thread your machine, understand seam allowance, sew straight seams, etc. All sewing sessions are run by 2-3 experienced tutors so someone will always be on hand to help if needed.
Please note - some retreats may specify that they are for certain skill levels, please read the information carefully. Any questions please get in touch via the 'message the tutor' button.
