Art and textile inspiration prompts

This e-course is aimed at artists and creatives who are stuck, in an artist's block, and want to try something new or are looking for inspiration. The course is suitable for most creatives no matter what their preference or medium. The prompts are more in the style of an art and design course and not just – here’s a photo, what would you do with it. We are exploring themes in relation to art, textiles, printing, ceramics, fashion and so on, whatever your discipline is. Each person can take their own artistic journey for each prompt whether that is drawing, painting, textiles, photography or ceramics. The prompt is explored in a monthly PDF booklet that can lead the artist on many different paths they can explore. You will want to revisit some themes. It is ideal for all levels, even beginners, and includes ideas that can be used for drawing, painting, felt, textiles, digital work and more. For personal use only.

What's included in the price?

Each month, you will receive an email with a theme and any of the following: - A photo. - Word(s). - Colour. - Resources – such as artists or books to look at. - Suggestions for materials. It’s up to you what you do, how you approach the theme, how much to do. If you want to treat it as a mini-course where you work for a month to produce a piece of work, or just a few minutes here and there. Tutor guidance and access is given throughout – although it is limited to half hour sessions per month apart from the written guidance given in the PDF. For personal use only. Karen is a fully qualified and experienced teacher of mixed media and quilting, for groups and individuals of any age. She is a hands-on designer maker of textiles, knitwear and quilts. She has been knitting for over 50 years, designing knitwear for over 30 years. She has designed her own textiles for over 20 years. She began quilting less than 10 years ago but designs all her own quilt patterns. Karen has been a teacher for over 40 years. Holding an Honours degree in Spanish and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, Karen develops unique e-courses in design, colour and texture.
