Thursday Evenings Date: 11th & 18th September 2025. Time: 6pm – 8.30pm The ancient art of lost wax casting was originally established as a metal working technique in the bronze age and has developed through millennia to this very specific manufacturing process. This short course looks to introduce students to this method of lost wax casting and using the various forms of jewellers’ wax. These session allow you to experiment in the sculptural element of jewellery making and will introduce you to a completely alternate jewellery making technique. Get to grips with the unique nature of jewellers’ wax, learning how to manipulate it and experiment in sculpting and building in this very different medium. We will explore blue and pink jewellers wax and how their properties differ. We will carve, melt and build a pendant, ring or freeform shape so as to make the most of each of these waxes. This class is perfect for the jewellers looking to express their ideas in alternative ways, or for those beginning their jewellery journey to widen their understanding of general jewellery making.
